Today we held the third annual Fall Welcome Address on campus. 🐝

This event has become a cornerstone to kicking off the new academic year. Thank you to President Mohamed Abousalem, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Megan Prosser, and Student Government President Ijeoma Chikezie for sharing about what's in store for KGI this year.

As President Abousalem put it: "Behind every milestone are people. There are faculty members who devote extra time to mentoring a student. Staff members who solve a problem before others even know it exists. Students who support one another through demanding programs. Alumni, partners, and donors who open doors, share their experiences and wisdom, and invest in the next generation.

"Our progress is built through thousands of individual actions, each contributing to something larger. Thank you for the role each of you plays in creating opportunity at KGI."

After a national search, we’re excited to welcome Derick Han to his new role as Dean. And if he looks familiar, there’s a good reason — Han has been part of the KGI community since 2013! Now, he’s stepping into this new role and helping lead the School of Pharmacy into its next chapter. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

KGI President Mohamed Abousalem joined Congresswoman Judy Chu, Claremont Mayor Jennifer Stark, members of Claremont City Council, and city officials last week as Chu presented an $850,000 check in federal funding to support the development of the Vortox property into Claremont South Village.

As owners of the Vortox property, KGI is proud to be a part of the development of the Claremont South Village, which will bring housing, retail, and restaurants near campus that students, faculty, staff, and the community can enjoy. We are proud to be engaged with the City of Claremont on this project that will be a wonderful addition to the city.
