Join us for our Inaugural Artist in Residence Event Featuring: William Marshall! Join us on November 10th to not only witness William's remarkable work but also to engage in a meaningful discussion during the Q&A session.

Date: Friday, November 10th
Time: 3:30 PM
Location: Scott Hall Lobby
Speaker presentation followed by Q&A
More about William:
William's collection is a unique and thought-provoking exploration of Afro-surrealism. Traditional surrealist paintings often depict the world in a warped, dream-like state, capturing the essence of life rather than its form. However, Afro-surrealism, as envisioned by William, delves into the experience of being Black and how it shapes one's perception of reality. To be Black often means experiencing the world in a way that feels detached from the realities of others, making life seem almost surreal at times.
Through his photography, William aims to highlight the uncertainty, confusion, and emotional turbulence that many Black individuals encounter in their everyday lives. His collection is a powerful testament to the diverse perspectives that our student body brings to the table, and we believe it will resonate with and inspire all who attend.
