o We support RESPONSIBLE Affordable Homeless Housing. o We support the need for PSH* housing, but LARKIN PARK is too close to vulnerable children and seniors.

Our group is working to promote transparency and cooperation between the City, residents, and prospective developers for the safety, protection, and betterment of the community. o We support City-Community PARTNERSHIP to ensure that all community members with a Vested Interest are heard.

Opinion: Homeowners should have say on developers’ massive projects - Our Neighborhood Voices 02/21/2023

The state continues to favor developers financially and remove control from local jurisdictions. It's time to fight back. With a 500,000 net resident population loss, why is there such a massive push for more housing?

Opinion: Homeowners should have say on developers’ massive projects - Our Neighborhood Voices By Anita Enander for Mercury News The Mercury News recently reported on the story of a Los Altos Hills developer working to construct a 20-unit apartment building on a single-family lot — using a state law that prevents neighbors and local elected officials from having any say in approving the p...

Another "what in the world is going on at city hall" moment - I have been informed that a new business is coming to downtown Claremont a few doors south of Boon Companion (children's toy store) and close to the post office. It is a company that sells rave wear and includes x-***ed lingerie. If you have concerns about this influence on our children, please let your city leaders know. This is the same type of store that is on Foothill in Upland near Tropical Lei Showgirls.

New ‘Care Court’ aims to treat severe mental illness | The Claremont COURIER 02/03/2023

It looks like the CARE Courts are not going to lock up the mentally challenged and force them to take medications as originally anticipated. --- They are going to place them at PSH facilities like Larkin Place. ---

And as with Housing First policies, they cannot be forced to take their medications and they will receive prioritized placement.

I am glad to see those in need will be getting help, but, as has been argued before, they should not be placed next to our seniors, junior high schoolers, and preschoolers.

What is the City going to do to protect the safety of our most vulnerable populations?

What is the City going to do to protect the safety of our most vulnerable populations?

New ‘Care Court’ aims to treat severe mental illness | The Claremont COURIER Los Angeles County has elected to fast track a new “court” aimed at delivering mental health disorder services to Californians who need it most. Signed by Governor Gavin Newsom in September 2022, the Community Assistance, Recovery and Empowerment Act, called CARE Court, aims to break the cycle o...

Van Nuys woman says homeless man continues to camp out on her porch, refuses to leave 09/25/2022

This is where our state and county’s politics are taking us. This is already happening in Claremont near Larkin Park and other areas Rampant drug use and lenient laws for criminal behavior will continue to foster more homelessness. Homeless housing provided by Housing First funding where there is no requirement for sobriety and criminal backgrounds are overlooked with few exceptions will not solve this problem. We need to approach this wholistically

Van Nuys woman says homeless man continues to camp out on her porch, refuses to leave A woman in Van Nuys is calling on police to investigate after a man, who she believes is homeless, continues to make a bed on her porch and refuses to leave.

Homeless Housing — LifeArk 09/21/2022

How to build truly affordable housing that blends into the community. Life Arc El Monte at $200K per unit vs Jamboree Larkin Place at $700k per unit and rising. These low cost, low density units can easily blend into communities. They are so affordable they can be sponsored without reliance on state and federal funds that mandate Housing First principles where drug use is allowed and rehabilitation therapies are optional.
