Yesterday, our Meats Judging team competed at regions! This team worked incredibly hard, and we are so proud of all their efforts! They placed 9th, which unfortunately wasn’t quite high enough to qualify for state, but they still did an amazing job! Great work to our team, and keep up the hard work!

🍪🍫 Cookies or brownies? Why choose when you can have BOTH?! 🍫🍪

Ms. Hansen’s Food Chemistry class had a blast participating in the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative Bake with Real Sugar Baking Contest! 🎉 When students couldn’t decide between chocolate chip cookies and brownies, they combined the best of both worlds and created delicious BROOKIES! 🤎

But the fun didn’t stop at baking! One of the contest rules required students to use sugar from SMBSC. Since their recipe also called for brown sugar, students got a hands-on chemistry lesson by making their own brown sugar from scratch by mixing molasses with white sugar! 🧪👩‍🍳 Who knew chemistry could be so sweet?!

Another great day of competition for MACCRAY FFA! Today, three more of our teams and members competed, and we couldn’t be more proud!
Forestry(picture one)— 1st Place at Regionals! They are headed to State!
• Gideon Johnson — 1st
• Ryder Niemeyer — 2nd
• Ryan Speiser — 5th
Soils(picture two)— 3rd Place and they are also headed to State!

Our next monthly meeting is October 5th, and we’d love to see everyone there! Come hang out, catch up, and see what we have planned for the month! Also, if you haven’t paid your FFA dues yet, this meeting is a great time to get those taken care of! We can’t wait to see you!
