Miss N. volunteered 3 HOURS today, helping me reorganize and lighten my overflowing music shelves. And . . . she got to take home lots of resources for her own students! We had a delightful time as we worked. She recently was awarded her OMTA Level 10 Syllabus medal, and a plaque. For her upcoming senior year, she will get to choose what solos and duets to study with me. Her younger brothers are also very talented and diligent. It is going to be an epic piano year!

Students played so beautifully at our Spring Recital.
It was amazing! 🎶

We had our quarterly group piano lesson today. Ages 3 - 17, with the 3 yo's dad staying here with her. But she was a rock star, and an incredibly good listener. They had soooo much fun just being together, and playing recital pieces for each other. They ADORE the potluck snack part of our 90-minute group lessons. While they have their snacks I play a few short videos on the TV about a composer or something about theory or instruments. After that, I didn't have the heart to interrupt them to join in the theory game I had planned. They were just so happy! They went home excited to reconnect at the spring recital in 9 days, and my heart is full.

Finishing up our spring 2020 piano season this week. Summer break, then we open again in September.
Students never missed a beat during the shutdown, as we kept the music going with ZOOM lessons!
Almost everyone completed the "30-Piece Challenge" this year, so this week I get to hand out lots of awards. So fun!

My youngest student currently –– Miss A. (6) is reading notes, starting to play with 2 hands, and has an amazing, supportive dad who literally held up their iPad through 75 minutes of lessons for his 2 girls. They were focused and cheerful and had practiced well! I was able to alternate between showing them either myself or my piano keys. And I could "zoom in" on their hands/keys when needed. Great lessons!
