I'm listening to Hallow as Alex interviews Dr. Peter Kreeft. It brings to mind Dr. Kreeft's visit to Easter's Catholic Books & Gifts in 2011. This great philosopher reminds me again to read and reread the classics. Because, "...think of a classic as a very large cow that gives you fresh milk every morning, and is inexhaustible. It rewards endlessly repeated rereading." Love that quote! 😄

Day 4 of the Divine Mercy Novena
Today bring to Me Those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know me. I was thinking also of them during My bitter Passion, and their future zeal comforted My Heart. Immerse them in the ocean of My mercy.
Most compassionate Jesus, You are the Light of the whole world. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who do not believe in God and of those who as yet do not know You. Let the rays of Your grace enlighten them that they, too, together with us, may extol Your wonderful mercy; and do not let them escape from the abode which is Your Most Compassionate Heart.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who do not believe in You, and of those who as yet do not know You, but who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel. These souls do not know what great happiness it is to love You. Grant that they, too, may extol the generosity of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Even though the EFFC has been closed for a year now I hope you will honor the legacy of one of our board members and our friend at Easter's Catholic Books & Gifts, Paul Hinkle. Paul was a good man, who lived his Catholic faith in service and joy. May God grant him eternal rest and may perpetual light shine upon him.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Visitation and Rosary services January 16th from 4pm-7pm and a Funeral Celebration of his life on January 17th from 10:00am-11:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 7854 Center Parkway, in Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Paul D. Hinkle to Sacramento Life Center, St. Vincent de Paul (St.Charles), and Weave.
