At Cincinnati Waldorf School, education is about more than academics — it’s about building courage, character, and community.

This week, our school gathered to celebrate and send off our 5th graders as they headed to the Waldorf Pentathlon at the Rudolf Steiner School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Through javelin throwing, ancient Greek-inspired events, and heartfelt letters from the Gods calling forth strength, courage, wisdom, and perseverance, students stepped into a meaningful Waldorf tradition that encourages both personal growth and teamwork.

Surrounded by cheering classmates, teachers, and families, our students were reminded that they are deeply supported by their community every step of the way.

This is what makes Waldorf education unique. Children are not only challenged academically, but nurtured socially, emotionally, and physically through experiences that build confidence, resilience, and belonging.

We are so proud of our 5th graders and the spirit they carried with them to the Pentathlon.

Nothing says appreciation like specialty lattes, smoothies, and homemade treats ☕💛

Our amazing Parent Association turned Faculty Appreciation into a real-life pop-up coffee shop and smoothie bar for the CWS faculty — one more example of the love and generosity they show our teachers all year long.

We are so grateful for this vibrant parent community that helps make CWS so special.

We’re proud to celebrate members of our community, David Jackman and Lydia Jackman—the visionaries behind Wildweed.

Their restaurant has just been named “One to Watch” by North America’s 50 Best Restaurants—an incredible honor recognizing rising culinary excellence across the continent.

Beyond the accolades, what stands out most is their commitment to community, creativity, and supporting local farmers and makers. We’re grateful to have them as part of ours.

Our May Day Festival brought our community together in the most joyful way 🌸

A beloved cornerstone of Waldorf education, May Day celebrates the arrival of spring, renewal, and the rhythms of nature. It’s a time to gather, create, and mark the season together.

Students crafted flower crowns from blooms generously donated by parents, each grade shared a Maypole dance or performance, and smiles were everywhere. With perfect weather and hundreds of families present, it was a beautiful reflection of the strength and spirit of our community.
Moments like these become lasting memories.
