Cincinnati Waldorf School had the honor of welcoming educators from Waldorf schools across the country for the PITEP program through the Great Lakes Waldorf Institute this summer.

Together, these dedicated teachers gathered to deepen their understanding, strengthen their practice, and continue the lifelong journey of Waldorf education. We are grateful for the rich conversations, meaningful connections, and shared commitment to nurturing the children we serve.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We’re inspired by this incredible community of educators!

🌿 Many hands make light work—and a beautiful campus.

One of the things that makes Cincinnati Waldorf School so special is our outdoor environment. Our children learn, explore, imagine, and grow surrounded by nature every single day. Caring for these spaces is part of caring for their education.

A heartfelt thank you to the parents, faculty, and students who came together for our recent Volunteer Day to begin refreshing our playground. Watching our community roll up their sleeves and work side by side is one of the best examples of what makes CWS such a special place.
Now it’s time for our next community workday!

Back-to-School Campus Clean-Up Day
Sunday, August 9
9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

As we prepare to welcome students back, we’re hoping for a wonderful turnout. Whether you can give an hour or stay all morning, your time truly makes a difference. Bring your work gloves, your family, and your school spirit—we’ll provide the projects (and plenty of gratitude!).

When we all pitch in, we create something beautiful together. We hope to see you there! 💚

We’re excited to share that we’ve recently added one-legged balance stools to our classrooms! These unique stools allow students to gently wiggle and move while they work, helping many children stay focused, engaged, and comfortable during lessons.

At Cincinnati Waldorf School, we recognize that every child learns differently. Providing flexible seating options like these is one way we support healthy movement, concentration, and joyful learning throughout the school day.

A special thank you to the talented maker of these stools, whose mission says it perfectly: “So they can wiggle on the bottom but focus on the top.” 💚 We love seeing thoughtful craftsmanship make such a meaningful impact for our students.

Thank you, Fatie Atkinson for creating such a wonderful resource for children and classrooms!

This group of rising 6th through 10th graders from CWS took on the challenge of international travel to go to Iceland and learn more about geology, ecosystems, and the global society in which we live.

They had a blast exploring glaciers, geysers, waterfalls, and volcanoes! The students received many compliments on the way they represented CWS out in the world and thoroughly enjoyed one another’s company.

If you’re interested in joining the next trip (to an amazing, different part of the world in summer 2028) with Ms. Harwood, look out for the destination announcement and information meeting this fall once school starts!

We recently gathered for a happy hour to celebrate our amazing Parent Association Room Reps and all they gave to our school community this year.

From organizing class playdates and the Holiday Faire to our ice skating party, Teacher Appreciation Month, and helping make the Spring Benefit a success, this incredible group volunteered countless hours to strengthen our community and support our school.

Cincinnati Waldorf School simply wouldn’t be the same without your time, energy, and enthusiasm. Thank you for all you do and for entrusting us with your children’s education. We are so grateful for each of you! 💚
