Over the weekend, two of our team members joined the global "Changemaker" Conference AshokaU as featured presenters!

In addition to sharing our success with X-LINK and learning from other outstanding programs (e.g. Brown and Fordham universities), we were able to explore the New Orleans area to learn about the post-Katrina community and the causes and effects of Katrina's historic flooding.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday 11/17 & 11/18, join us at a regional conference designed to spark big change in greater Cincinnati!

We're proud to be partners with/ sponsors of Neighborhood Economics' upcoming conference at Xavier University! It's a movement that can brings students to the frontlines of meaningful economic change. Read below/ check out www.neighborhoodeconomics.org to learn more:

"We need an alternative story of what the economy is actually for.
While the conquests of Wall Street still dominate headlines there are incredible reasons for hope rising up from Main Streets all over North America.

Multiple movements are converging that emphasize buying, eating, and investing in the local. It’s here at the neighborhood level - the most local economy, where we can see the impact, hear the stories, and share best practices at a more relational level.
Along with luminaries like Dr. Walter Brueggemann, Peter Block, Amy Cortese, Michael Schuman and many more, we invite you to join us this November 17-18th in Cincinnati. Together let’s invest our time, resources, and imagination towards accelerating the flow of capital into our neighborhoods, let’s live into an alternative story."

Communities need microenterprise like crops need honeybees.

Visiting an incredibly inspiring place-based business incubator run by Emory University in Atlanta. Leutrina is a graduate of the Start: ME program and is off to a swift start.

We're munching on tasty and authentic Caribbean food and can't wait to start supporting local enterprise through a place based incubator (many partners on this)!!

The Clinton Community Fellows took a road trip from Wilmington, OH just to hear about our approach to community-engaged learning. We toured X-LINK programs, Xavier University, and visited Habits Cafe/ 20th Century Theater owner Mark Rogers to learn about X-LINK in Oakley.

Huge thanks to the fellows for visiting with organizer Taylor Stuckert; their program has made waves in media for its approach to engaging gifted students with community organizations in Wilmington and we're glad to learn from them, too!
