Even though seventh graders Elizabeth and Maddie are more than two thousand miles away from Guatemala, they were inspired to make a difference for Guatemalan students their age.
“While doing research, we found [CoEd] and felt strongly about supporting a student around our age because we believe everyone deserves the chance to get an education,” share Elizabeth and Maddie.
The two girls created bookmarks inspired by Guatemalan textiles, which are being sold to raise funds for Nancy, a seventh grader in the Rise Youth Development Program. We're touched and encouraged by the compassion of these young people working towards a brighter future!

We're thrilled to share that we inaugurated our new Employment Hub in our San Lucas Educational Center last month!
This space is dedicated to supporting Rise students and recent Rise graduates, who are developing vital skills for career success through our collaboration with Impact Hub Antigua—the Employment Hub. There, students will grow their abilities in leadership, teamwork, technology, and more. We can't wait to see students thrive in this new space and beyond, when they kick-start their careers!

Last month, Spark teachers participated in training sessions at our office in San Lucas Sacatepéquez!
During these sessions, teachers learn classroom strategies to engage and support students using pedagogical research and tools developed by the Spark team, like rotafolios, tarjetones, and afiches.

Y seguimos construyendo.

Happy ! Spark classroom demonstrations never fail to make us smile, especially when the students bring out their homemade puppets to tell a story from their classroom's library of Spark books! 🐥

¡Feliz Día de la Madre! 🌷 We're endlessly thankful for all the mothers, grandmothers, and other maternal figures supporting the students in our programs.
Their resilient efforts and wisdom guide future generations towards brighter paths, inspiring compassion and hope—for both the students and our team. To all the women filling this tremendously impactful role: thank you!
