🥷 The Ninja Choke 🥷
This is my Ninja Choke from our lapel series.
We immediately start by following our side control priorities: killing the hip and controlling the inside arm. From there, I grab the outside lapel and feed it around their shoulder to start building the trap.
Once everything is secured, I drive my shoulder into their chin and turn away to open up my own top lapel. As they begin framing against my throat, I feed my lapel between the arm and exchange grips from their lapel to mine.
Once the lock is secured, I block the hip, hoist my hips, and spin around to finish the choke.
This is a fast, powerful choke that comes on hard and catches people by surprise. It definitely helps when your opponent is wearing the same color gi as you.

Focused Fight Team Spring Affiliate Training 2026 was a total banger.
This Muay Thai seminar meant a lot to me. The switch stance series is something I’ve been building, testing, and refining over time—not just for fighters, but for coaches and schools that want a clear, teachable system.
In this video, you’re getting a real look at how we structure it:
We start with foundational footwork to build confidence and balance.
We layer into partner drills to create awareness and timing.
We reinforce it with line drills for repetition and precision.
And then we bring it to life with timing drills—where it actually starts to feel like fighting.
That’s how we do things at Focused Fight Team. It’s not random. It’s a system. It’s progression. It’s giving coaches and students a clear path so they can grow with confidence.
Switch stance isn’t just a trend—it’s becoming a necessary skill in modern MMA and striking. And if you’re not teaching it with structure, you’re leaving a gap in your program.
I’m proud of the coaches who showed up, took notes, asked questions, and got better. That’s what this community is about—leveling up together.
If you’re a coach or school owner and you’re looking for more structure, more direction, and a real team behind you—we’d love to connect.

🥋 Baseball Bat Choke — Lapel Style Follow-Up 🥋
Let’s build off the baseball bat choke setup.
We’re starting from side control looking to feed the lapel underneath the shoulder, but sometimes your opponent drops their elbow and shuts the space down. No problem. Instead, we’re gonna feed the lapel over the top and use it to start trapping the arm.
Once the arm is trapped, this creates a perfect opportunity to jump up to knee-on-belly and immediately start attacking the baseball bat choke.
The best part about this setup is the transition. If they become too focused on defending the choke and start trapping your arm, don’t fight it. Flow directly into the arm bar by swinging your leg over the top and attacking the finish.
One attack leads to the next. Stay connected, follow the reactions, and let the position guide the submission.
🥋 Baseball Bat Choke — Lapel Style 🥋
We’re starting from side control with strong control and pressure. Open the lapel and feed it deep around the far shoulder so you can secure the setup before moving to knee-on-belly. Once we establish the position, we immediately attack the arm to shift their focus away from the choke.
As they begin defending the arm, slide the forearm up to the neck and lock everything in tight. Feed the lapel into your hand, cut the shin across the inner bicep, spin your head toward the near hip, and finish the choke with pressure and control.
This is a great submission that blends pressure, timing, distraction, and positional awareness all together. Stay patient through the setup and trust the process.

Spring Affiliate Training - Photo Dump Round #1
Day two of Focused Fight Team Affiliate Training… dialed in from start to finish.
We kicked things off with a one-hour open mat—great rounds, new training partners, and a strong tone for the day. Then we rolled straight into a two-hour Jiu-Jitsu seminar, focused on details that actually translate when it matters.
Having coaches like Dave Mullikin and John Morton on the mat made this one special. High-level instruction, different perspectives, and a shared goal of helping everyone in the room get better.
That’s what this weekend is about.
Bringing our affiliates together once a year.
Creating an environment to train, collaborate, and build real relationships.
And doing it the right way—no cost, no barriers—just community.
If you’re a school owner looking to build a stronger Jiu-Jitsu program and be part of something bigger, we’d love to connect.

Day one of Focused Fight Team Affiliate Training… and it delivered.
We kicked things off with a high-level Muay Thai seminar, dialing in our switch stance series—building flow, timing, and confidence in transitions. This is the kind of work that sharpens both coaches and students, and it sets the tone for everything we’re about.
What makes this weekend special isn’t just the training—it’s the people. Affiliates from all over the country, on the same mat, learning, pushing, and building real relationships. That’s the standard we hold.
It was also great having Revgear in the building. Big thank you to Paul Reavlin for coming out and supporting the community. I had the chance to break in the new S7 gloves—solid feel, built for real work.
To the school owners watching this—if you’re looking to level up your striking program, bring structure to your classes, and be part of something bigger, take a look at the Focused Kickboxing System.
We don’t just give you techniques.
We give you a system.
We give you support.
And we give you a community.
We host this affiliate training once a year, free for all of our affiliates and their students, because building strong schools starts with bringing people together.
