In partnership with the Career Center, MSJ Art & Design students took learning beyond the classroom with a visit to Cincinnati’s historic Union Terminal!

Students explored the iconic mosaic murals by German-born artist Winold Reiss, discovering the stories, people, and industries that shaped Cincinnati’s history. From the intricate details of the mosaics to Reiss’s artistic process and German influences, the experience brought art history to life.

The day wrapped up with a meal at Hofbräuhaus Newport, celebrating the German cultural connections woven throughout Cincinnati’s history.

Thank you to the German Embassy and our Germany on Campus grant funders for making this experience possible and supporting our students’ continued learning!

Ever been asked, “Tell me about yourself,” and suddenly your mind goes completely blank?

In Episode 3, Christin sits down with Katie Lake, Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter at Premier Health, to talk about how to actually talk about your experiences. They cover elevator pitches, career fairs, confidence, and why you don't need a perfect list of accomplishments to make an impression.

Your experiences matter. The trick is knowing how to talk about what you did, what you learned, and why it matters.

What does it actually mean to be qualified?

In Episode 2 of our podcast, Main Character Energy, Wendy Riordan from Q Laboratories reminds us that you may be giving yourself less credit than you deserve.

“You don’t have to know everything.”

And when it comes to opportunities that feel a little out of reach? Don’t be afraid to “just put your name out there.”

Your part-time job counts. Your campus involvement counts. Your classroom experiences count.

Sometimes, you’re more qualified than you think.
