Our outstanding scholars, and host Sandra Geiser, brought the transnational experiences of WWI alive through song, images, and poetry. Many thanks to the Mercantile Library for hosting and promoting this event.

What happens when chemistry turns deadly? Learn more at 'The Afterlife of the Chemist's War: Gas Masks and Culture, 1915-1945.' Dr. Susan Grayzel, an internationally renowned scholar of WWI, will present a lecture at the UC College of Medicine on chemical warfare and the development of gas masks in the Great War.
Free and open to the public. 7:00 p.m., Kresge Auditorium at the UC College of Medicine.

Want to explore a Cincinnati treasure, and experience the poetry, prose, songs, images, and sounds of WWI?
On July 8 please join NEH institute scholars of music, literature and theater as they present, "Literature, Arts and Music of the Great War." The event takes place at 7 p.m. at the Mercantile Library, at 414 Walnut St. in downtown Cincinnati. 22 performers will present three-minute performances that represent the multidimensional experiences of WWI.
