All, our classmate, Na’Kita Pennington(Futrell), unexpectedly lost her daughter this week. If you’re so moved and able, you can assist in putting her to rest. Tanir leaves behind 2 little ones. Info to give is in the photos.

Coach Al West

I remember back to a day at the beginning of my freshmen year, it was one of the first bad-weather-days. My mother wouldn’t let me doing athletic activities, so my “rebellion” was to be as active as I could in lots of academic extracurricular activities. I was after school for one such meeting - which one, I don’t even recall, and this man pictured here came in, introduced himself and said that due to the weather, the football team was conditioning indoors that afternoon. His explanation was followed by a phrase that every athlete he coached on my timeline has been quoting him. To me, a non-athlete, it didn’t make sense to me then, but having witnessed it numerous times since 1990 and having nearly been run over by friends because I was going an opposing direction on the stairs, it makes total sense now. I think we will ALL miss hearing those words.

RIP, Coach! We love you! We miss you! We honor you! We will keep your legacy alive!

Based on previous conversations with classmates, Class President, Lenice Williams, has a plan for the reunion to be in July, but volunteers are needed to make it happen.
