Floating Shape Workshop

Hello! FSW founder Mark Neeley will be a special guest at a youth film & music workshop coming up in a few weeks, alongside his musician/composer partner Yohei Shikano. This is a unique, virtual summer workshop hosted by the Calibraska Arts Initiative with a great instructor! It is for children (ages 9-12), who will learn about film soundtracks and the process of music and film, all while creating their own instruments from recycled materials. We are all set up for a live animation workshop at the Good People Festival at the Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center in Covington, KY! We are located in the "kids area" building and will be here until 4 PM, making a collaborative film.

That's a wrap! Thank you to these seven young animators for putting in 15 hours worth of writing, storyboarding, and animation at our week-long summer camp this week. We made three collaborative films in small groups that will be uploaded shortly.

FSW will be hosting a unique, free animation workshop here at The Good People Festival coming up in a few weekends. Below, see the collaborative film that was made a the festival last year!

Summer is fast approaching, and we have two exciting animation workshops lined up (with more in the works). Our annual, week-long animation "summer camp" will be back at Robot Inside Crafting Company the week of July 15-19. Registration is required for this one so please check out Robotinside13.com. Then, we will be returning to the The Good People Festival in Covington, KY for the third straight year, hosting a "live" youth animation project. More details on these as they get closer!

We had such a fantastic turnout for our workshop yesterday at the Taft Museum of Art! Thank you to everyone who came and animated with us! Video of our cutout animation project will be posted later this week.

From the Cincinnati Art Museum to our week-long summer camp at Robot Inside Crafting Company (creating a film that has been submitted to youth animation festivals!) to our live film at the Good People Festival.
