Congratulations to the "Yeti" Award Winners: Jane B., Avery M., and Jocelynn F. were recognized by an adult for being using the power of YET. The Power of Yet is grounded in research related to a Growth Mindset which is a critical skill for success in school and in life. It is related to perseverance and feelings of self-efficacy. The idea is simple. When you make a defeatist statement simply add the word “yet” to the end. Suddenly that statement becomes an unflappable promise that the task will be accomplished. Students today must be armed with the skills to accomplish difficult things and know that what is easy is not what is, typically, most important.

Take a look at the photos to see if you recognize any items that belong to your child!

Please remember to label all clothing and personal belongings brought to school, including jackets, sweatshirts, lunchboxes, and water bottles. Having your child’s name on their items makes it much easier for us to return them to their rightful owner.

PUMPKIN COLLECTION

The changing color of the leaves, the chill in the air, pumpkins everywhere!

It is that time of year again - our annual pumpkin drive for the children at New Path (formerly called St. Joseph Orphanage). This is one of Springmyer’s favorite activities. Our pumpkin collection allows each child to have their own pumpkin to decorate. This year we need 100 pumpkins.

The children from New Path look forward to this every year! The pumpkins have to be a nice size to decorate. This year they are asking us not to send real big pumpkins or tiny ones. No bigger than a basketball or a size 5 soccer ball and no smaller than 3 inches. The children decorate them with paint and markers.

Donated pumpkins can be brought to the library from October 12 to October 22.

Springmyer's Got Spark!" Springmyer has filled another Sparky Bingo Board!! Each student on both Bingo Board was recognized by an adult for being respectful, responsible, and safe at Springmyer. From the many names on the board ten lucky winners were chosen at random for a special prize. Congratulations to Jakoby H., Paxton B., Quynn M., Corey S., Cecily K., Arien A., Melanie S., Maizie P., Evelyn M., Joey S. These lucky students received a Certificate for a free meal from Panda Express and a Halloween Bracelet!
