St. Aloysius Gonzaga School

St. Aloysius Gonzaga School Saint Aloysius Gonzaga School, PreK - 8th grade Empowering Minds, Nurturing the Spirit St. Aloysius Gonzaga parish was founded in 1866 by a group of Catholics.

The first building was dedicated in 1868 and included a school, church, priest’s residence, and a teacher’s residence. The school has evolved through the decades, the latest renovations being made in 2010. These deep roots bear witness to the strength of the community served by St. Al's parish and school. The school and parents share a mutually benficial partnership that makes nurturing the students easy and enjoyable. This relationship creates a school environment conducive to forming and informing the students. Al's is a warm and welcoming community and school. Stop in sometime.

Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in October 2011, is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. This is a day when we can come together to send a visible message of building community through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange on October 21st. This vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, showing support for students who have been bullied and for bullying prevention.

On Wednesday, September 30th
Students will be participating in a child abuse safety workshop that will be facilitated by trained staff from the Council on Child Abuse of Southern Ohio (COCA). COCA provides workshops to over 20,000 children per year in a variety of school districts and settings, including Cincinnati Public Schools, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Northwest School District, Norwood City Schools, Forest Hills Schools, Oak Hills Schools, charter schools, and many others.

The School-Based Personal Safety program focus on child abuse and bullying prevention while supporting schools’ compliance with Ohio House Bill 19 and Senate Bill 288. Students learn abuse prevention and personal safety strategies, including understanding personal boundaries and becoming their own advocates. COCA teaches children to recognize the main types of abuse—physical, verbal, sexual, and neglect—and bullying behaviors, including physical, verbal, sexual, social, and cyberbullying. Students also have opportunities to disclose current or past abuse or bullying
