Another sad post. This is a "share" from Becca Schmidt.
I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news.
The good news is Mark Schmidt is now home for good. He’s home with his family where he wants to be the most.
The bad news is he’s in End Stage Renal Disease and is on Hospice.
As of right now, he feels normal. He has no pain and it’s just like a regular day. That will obviously change, although we really don’t have a timeline. Typical lifespan can be a few weeks but definitely could go longer if his kidneys have a little output left. As this progresses, he will get more tired and have trouble staying awake.
If anyone would like to visit him, you are more than welcome to come over (message me for address) or you can give him a call and he will do his best to get back to you.
We do ask that you let us know before you come, as I will be working from home and he will have some nurses and aides coming in and out.
This is the beginning of an end so I’m grateful that I get a chance to make a few more memories and say goodbye.
Please share with whoever you may think would like to know this, as I know my dad has a BILLION friends 🥹

Please keep Mark in your prayers.

This hit home for me. Terry Allgeyer passed this week. I don't have any info yet, but will post it as soon as I can get it. I knew Terry from St.Williams, when we were kids, then worked with him at an engineering company, years later. Terry was great guy with a witty sense of humor. Also a great electrical engineer.

Obituary:
Terrence “Terry” Edward Allgeyer, aged 65 (born June 10, 1959), passed away peacefully in his home on November 19th. After graduating from Elder High School in 1977, he pursued an engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He then married his high-school sweetheart, Denise (nee Schobert) in 1984. From there, the two settled down on the westside of Cincinnati where they raised their 3 children.

In addition to being a devoted husband, he was a very involved father who loved coaching his sons’ sports teams at St. Dominic. He had a fulfilling career as an electrical engineer that spanned 40+ years.

Terry was very outgoing, he didn’t know a stranger, and was the life of the party. While he enjoyed being a father, being a grandfather was his true passion, whether it was cheering on his grandson at a baseball game or reading a book to his granddaughter, it was evident that his grandchildren gave him another purpose in life.

Terry is proceeded in death by his parents Lawrence E. Allgeyer and Mary Jean (McLaughlin), his older brothers Timothy and Mark.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Denise, his children, Tyler LaHue-Allgeyer (Michelle), Lindsey Buelterman (Dan), Michael Allgeyer, his grandchildren Nicholas Allgeyer, Brooklyn LaHue-Allgeyer, and Alex Allgeyer. He is also survived by his older brother, Tom Allgeyer (Diane) and sister-in-law Carolyn Allgeyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Sunday, December 1 at Radel funeral home, 650 Neeb Rd., Cincinnati, OH, 45233, from 3-5pm. Mass will be held on Monday, December 2, at St. Dominic Catholic Church 4551 Delhi Rd., Cincinnati, OH, 45238 at 10am.

How awesome is that!

I found a line with just one person ahead of me and began organizing my items on the conveyor. After placing my items, I look up to see that the person ahead of me was an elderly woman. She was paying for her items with change and wanted to purchase each separately. Part of me, the part that had a long day at work, the part of me who had a 1 1/2 year old having a melt down in the cart, the part that had set an unnecessary timeline for Target and getting home, was frustrated with this woman and the inconvenience she had placed on me.
BUT then I watched the young employee with this woman. I watched him help her count her change, ever so tenderly taking it from her shaking hands. I listened to him repeatedly saying “yes, mam” to her. When she asked if she had enough to buy a reusable bag, he told her she did and went two lines over to get one for her and then repackaged her items. Never once did this employee huff, gruff or roll his eyes. He was nothing but patient and kind.
As I was watching him, I saw that Eloise was too. She was standing next to the woman, watching the employee count the change. I realized I hadn’t been inconvenienced at all. That my daughter was instead witnessing kindness and patience and being taught this valuable lesson by a complete stranger; furthermore, I realized that I too needed a refresher on this lesson.
When the woman was finished, the employee began ringing up my items and thanked me for my patience. I then thanked him for teaching us patience and kindness by his treatment of that elderly woman. And although my timeline for target was askew, when he was finished I pushed my cart through the store trying to find the manager. I wanted her to know of the employee’s, kindness and patience, and how much it meant to me. After tracking her down and sharing the story with her, we left Target with a cart full of consumable items, but what is more a heart full of gratitude for such an invaluable lesson.
If you are ever in the Glendale Target, give Ishmael a smile and a nod. The world could use more people like him.

Sorry to have more sad news. Clint Stacey has passed back in January. We just found out about this today. I remember Clint as a tall quiet guy. We didn't have any classes together, so I didn't really know him. Below please find his obituary: Clinton Stacey, Jr., age 63, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 30, 1959 to Clinton James and Rita Louise Stacey (nee Warr).

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Clint is the brother of Diane Stacey.

Clint was a tournament bass fisherman, liked to cruise the flea markets for odds and ends including "model 18" cars.
Clint had 5 dogs that he treated like kids. Please leave any thoughts and/or prayers for Clint.
