Carson Families, we are asking for your immediate attention to a serious safety concern.
Despite repeated reminders, we continue to see families stopping on Sunset Avenue and allowing children to exit vehicles in the middle of the street. This is extremely dangerous and puts our students at risk of being seriously injured.
We cannot emphasize this enough: No amount of time saved is worth putting a child's life in danger.
We are pleading with all families to use the designated drop-off and pickup area behind Carson. Please follow the established traffic route from Sunset to Westhaven and into the car rider line near the playing field.
Never stop in the roadway to drop off or pick up a child. It only takes one distracted driver or one unexpected movement for a tragedy to occur.
We understand that mornings can be hectic and that everyone has somewhere to be. However, the safety of our children must always come first.
Please help us prevent an accident before one happens. We do not want to wait until a child is hurt to make a change.
