Utae Kamishiro was born into a musical family, where her mother was a professional pianist, she started her career at the bright young age of 8, she performed with the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra. She fell in love with music and by the age of 13, she had learned to play the basoon at the Nortre Dame Youth Orchestra in Japan. She even started teaching music at the age

of 15. At the age of 16, she had joined her first punk band where she played the drums. Utae moved to United States in 1999 in order to attend the Cleveland Institute of Music with scholarships granted, held bachelors of music in piano performance. She attended Illinois State University with full scholarship granted where she taught group piano, where she earned Masters of Music in Music Therapy. In 2007 she completed internship at Georgia State Hospital, and started working at Patton State Hospital as a clinical music therapist. She had two solo piano concerts in the Kulas Hall and the Pavilion at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She moved to Los Angeles in 2010, where she was involved with several bands, music videos and live shows. Most notably, she had the pleasure of performing in the House of Blues, Troubadour and John Lovitz Comedy Club to name a few. In 2020, she relocated to Cincinnati to expand her Kami Kids Music Academy where she has retained students from LA.
