Congratulations to Lucas Wittenkeller on being selected for the 2026-2027 AACP Aspiring Academics Program!

Lucas is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate under the mentorship of Dr. Kruyer and was chosen as one of only 29 students nationwide for this prestigious program.

A first-generation college graduate, Lucas earned his bachelor's degree in neuroscience and psychology from North Central College. His research focuses on understanding novel mechanisms of neuropsychiatric illness, and he has already made a meaningful impact through his work at UC.

We are excited to see Lucas continue to grow as a scholar, mentor, and future academic leader through this opportunity.

Students from Open School, an interprofessional organization that brings together learners from pharmacy, medicine, physical therapy, dental hygiene, nursing, and allied health, recently participated in the Live Healthy and Move Health Fair in Forest Park.

The event gave UC Pharmacy students the opportunity to work together while supporting community health and wellness through education and outreach.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day on the course. It was wonderful to spend time with alumni, faculty, friends, and supporters while enjoying some friendly competition and plenty of fun.

Last week, our faculty and staff focused on two important priorities: serving our community and investing in well-being.

At St. Vincent de Paul, volunteers helped support neighbors visiting the Food Pantry by assisting with grocery selections and preparing donations for distribution. It was a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact while strengthening connections with colleagues through service.

We also gathered for the 2026 Wellness Retreat, where faculty and staff spent the day learning, reflecting, and recharging. Activities included a presentation from the Osher Center for Integrative Health, a discussion of faculty and staff wellbeing survey results, a session on emotional intelligence, and wellness experiences like Tai Chi and Sound Immersion.

Last week, we welcomed the Class of 2030 to the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy during our 2026 White Coat Ceremony 🥼❤️

During the ceremony, each student was individually coated by Brad Hein, PharmD, marking an important milestone as they officially entered the profession.

In addition, the class presented their class-created oath which reflects their shared commitment to professionalism, integrity, compassion, and patient-centered care as they begin their pharmacy education journey.

The ceremony also featured remarks from pharmacy leaders and advocates, including:
