Are you interested in being an actor or volunteer for RED's 3rd Annual Tunnel of Oppression Event? Check out the information below! Also, you can attend the event as a participant! It is going to be a powerful experience! See how you can get involved!
RED’s 3rd Annual Tunnel of Oppression event is well on its way. So, if you are interested in operating as an actor (which we would love to have you there as well), please fill out the spreadsheet via the link below. This is also an opportunity for students to get volunteer hours, if they need any or to just participate as well. Just read below and it's important to look at ALL tabs on the spreadsheet (Tab 2 & 3)! There will also be meetings that take place prior to the event, as the attachment shows.
We are looking to build on to the past 2 years that this event has happened and with your help, it can be even bigger!
Just a few things to keep in mind:
1) This event is a department and campus wide event so we are asking you to help encourage/bring residents and friends to the event, as well as take on a role.
2) We are looking for you all to fill any of the roles by signing up via this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bWBllcN-ENju-zR6HR1nvLuHlM0pci8-fSZD_SnhNBA/edit?usp=sharing (BE SURE TO LOOK AT ALL TABS ON THE SPREADSHEET)
3) Keep in mind that the topics are heavy topics, but our sole purpose is to provide an environment for educating NOT tearing people down.
4) Be sure to review the attachments with Important Dates and the event flyer to share.

“Black Women’s History Week” UC Black Women on the Move Event
Feb. 19-25
All week long, the UC Black Women on the Move –– an affinity organization for black women UC staff –– will connect, cultivate and climb through a week of exciting programming. This year's theme is "The Miseducation of the Black Woman: Dispelling the Myths and Stereotypes and Dismantling the Narrative that Has Been Written," and every day will be a celebration of a word and theme that gets us closer to tearing down those things told about us and to us as black women. We start by celebrating Faith and close with fortifying Sisterhood, and everyday promises to be powerful and purposeful. Combining Black History Month and Women’s History Month will acknowledge the rich history of black women achievers throughout society and offer a platform for black women faculty and staff to network with black women students and community members. The week is co-sponsored by the AACRC, Sisters Impacting Sisters, UC Women’s Center, Women Gender and Sexuality Studies, UC International and the United Black Student Association.
