Today your child will be coming home with a form for intramurals. (Posted below)
This is new to 3rd grade this year. Please read all the info, and save the dates!Sessions tend to fill up fast. I will begin collecting these tomorrow morning. Please send the bottom portion back with payment. (Checks are made out to JFD.)

Welcome back, JFD! We hope your summer was amazing!
We wanted to send out our yearly post about Intramurals. 3rd grade parents, this will be your first time seeing this info so I just want to give a brief rundown. We will be holding Intramurals in the mornings.

We will begin Session 1 in September.

3rd grade will be held on Wednesdays during each session. 4th/5th will be held on Thursdays. Forms will be sent home about a week before each session.

7:45 am- Doors open
7:50-8:30- Game Play in MPR
8:30- students will be released to their classrooms (or breakfast in the MPR if they choose).

Session 1 forms will come home sometime next week.

Every February (Heart Month), in our PE classes, our students get the opportunity to raise money for the American Heart Association through the Kids Heart Challenge.
We spent our class time learning about heart health, and utilizing our fitness stations to get our hearts pumping. It’s also during this time that we get to learn and improve on our jump roping skills during our jump rope unit.

Our students have done an incredible job yet again this year! This year, we raised a little over 15,000!

This is also the 5th year in a row that the same student has raised the highest amount of money.

Kaitlyn Firsich (5th grade) raised a total of 2,390.10. (This is also the highest amount ever raised by a single student at JFD- a record she broke yet again this year!)

Colton Swingle (3rd grade) brought in the second highest amount, with Kiernan York (3rd grade) rounding out the top 3 fundraisers for this year!

We are so proud of ALL of our students for raising money for such a great cause.

Thank you to everyone who donated this year and helped us raise money to advance health and hope for those in need. We don’t always know where our donations are going, but the lives that are touched are far- reaching.

We sre so proud of our students at JFD for making a difference!
