If you want a masterclass in how fast 9 years flies by, just look at the St. Gertrude Class of 2026. This week marks their absolute final days walking these hallways as SGS students.

From tiny kindergarteners trying to find their classrooms to the 8th-grade leaders running the school, this group has officially reached the end of an era.

Remember when recess meant coming home with muddy sneakers and grass stains? Our elementary students know the feeling well!

First graders from St. Gertrude School traded the classroom for the ultimate science lab at the Cincinnati Nature Center. This field trip was the perfect continuation of the outdoor STEM education our students explore on campus every single week.

True learning happens when kids get their hands dirty, ask big questions, and explore the real world. St. Gertrude students are proving that the best childhood memories, and the best future scientists, are still made in the great outdoors.

Last week our middle school students tackled dissections of bullfrogs, squids and fetal pigs, discovering the Creator’s handiwork, one system at a time.

Our fourth grade students not only know how it continues, but can recite the Declaration of Independence in its entirety. After months of rigorous study of America’s founding—from the French and Indian War through the War of 1812—their learning culminates in our beloved Early American Festival.

This is not a mere study of facts, but a cultivation of the historical imagination, equipping the next generation to navigate the future of our nation.

Watching our second graders prepare for their First Holy Communion has been a journey of pure joy.

Today we’re looking back at last week’s preparation with Father Corbett as our second graders got ready to receive the Blessed Sacrament for the very first time.

What a blessing to watch their faith bloom under the care of such a dedicated shepherd. Congratulations to all our second graders on this beautiful step in your spiritual journey!

Did you know turtles bury themselves in the mud to hibernate through winter? 🐢💤

In our outdoor classroom, our kindergartners explored how life waits, rests, and rises again. With Mrs. Ridgeway, they planted pea sprouts and created their own “garden turtles,” painting biodegradable shells where tiny seeds could grow and take root.

These little explorers are getting a hands-on lesson in patience & growth We can’t wait to see how these little gardeners (and their pea sprouts!) flourish this spring.
