Black Male Initiative (B.M.I.) of Cincinnati State Tech & Community College

Cincinnati State and BMI hosted about 80 students from toddlers to teens, and about 35 parents, mentors, and volunteers at the C*C Saturday Hoops/Back to School event on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Click the article to read more about the event.
The vision for this event centers around creating skill-building opportunities such as:
• Performing together as a team
• Engaging and meeting new people
• Recognizing and navigating differences in attitudes and behaviors
• Building relationships across diverse backgrounds
Beyond the athletic competition, this event served as an excellent opportunity to showcase Cincinnati State’s campus to potential future students. Attendees not only experience our facilities firsthand but was had the chance to interact with current BMI members, staff, faculty, and C-State students who can share valuable information about Cincinnati State’s programs and student life.

April is SA Awareness month and we at Cincinnati State & BMI want to take the time to acknowledge and let everyone know that we stand with survivors of SA & commend everyone for their bravery from any abuse.

During this Black History Month we at BMI want to highlight well known historians, this weeks historian is W.E.B Du Bois. Mr. Du Bois was a sociologist, historian and Pan-African civil rights activist. He fought for all things black and is why we are honoring him this month.

Cincinnati State Campus is closed today to honor the late great Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

His efforts for change in the black community has and will never be forgotten.
