ICYO has been serving the youth of Cincinnati's inner city for more than 27 years. However the Covid-19 virus has been taking quite the hit on their organization. They work with low income students in grades K-12, and with the schools closed, their services are needed more than ever. At Inner City Youth Opportunities they believe they have a responsibility to their students. From the moment they walk into their after school program, the students are provided with a fresh cooked meal, top notch educational assistance, and a safe and clean environment. ICYO is currently feeling the pain of not being able to serve their families or employ their staff who have been with them for the past 25 years. Their hope is to have the available resources to continue their work once things start to transition back to normal. With the funds they raise from this campaign they will be able to maintain rent, supply their students with educational material while on break, pay their employees that they desperately need, maintain activities and events that their students regularly attend, and much more. The campaign goal of $10,000 will help us sustain as a non profit as we navigate through this uncertain future.
At Sigma Chi, we go to ICYO every Wednesday and tutor kids. The organization means so much to us. Our Community Service Chair had this to say regarding ICYO, “Everyone in that building, especially the kids, treats you like family. While we help support them every Wednesday, they help support us too by putting a smile on our faces and brightening our days.” You can donate to ICYO through the link below.

Congratulations to our brother for publishing his book “Every Day Lessons From Every Day People” and for having it featured in The Magazine of Sigma Chi! Connor started collecting quotes from personal conversations when he started college. After gathering over 1,000 quotes in 3 years, Connor and his friend Chandler decided to put their favorite 365 into a coffee-table style book. You can find the book on Amazon, Target, and Barnes and Noble for 17.99. @ Cincinnati, Ohio
