🎶 No instrument required—just bring your voice! 🎶

This fall, the Riley School of Irish Music is offering a 5-week Lilting Workshop with instructor Nancy Keyser!

Lilting—sometimes called “mouth music,” “diddling,” or port a’bhéil—is a lively Irish tradition that uses rhythmic syllables like dom, die, dee, and day to capture the rhythm and melody of a tune. For generations, it has helped Irish musicians learn, remember, and share tunes by ear—and it’s a lot of fun!

☘️ In this workshop, you’ll:
• Learn traditional Irish tunes by ear through lilting
• Lilt together as a group
• Explore the connection between lilting, dancing, singing, and instrumental music
• Learn how to use lilting as a practice tool for your instrument

Everyone is welcome—no instrument or lilting experience necessary!
