Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalm 46:10)

God Bless! Hope all of our pharmacists-in-training are having a wonderful summer!

In 1 Timothy 6:9-10, it says, "Those who want to be rich are falling into temptation and into a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains." While wanting a good salary is nice, we must not make that our primary goal. We must make our primary goal doing God's will by ministering to others through the industry he created through human beings called pharmacy. God should always be our #1 focus!

The Doubting Thomas is a very intriguing passage in the Bible. At first glance, you may think, "Oh silly, why couldn't you believe on faith?" However, we all have Doubting Thomas moments in our life. We doubt that God cares about us. We doubt that God is willing to get us out of the bad situation we're in. More than anything, we worry needlessly about the things of this world when God already has it taken care of. Thankfully, God is forgiving of our foolishness and, as long as we're seeking him, He will provide us a way to believe.

Matthew 7:12- "Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets."

Matthew 7:1-5- "Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so you will be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter in your eye' while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first. Then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye." This one hurts.

Why is the creation/evolution debate important? Because evolution directly contradicts the word of God. You cannot fit millions of years and death and destruction into a perfect creation. Evolution also directly contradicts the biblical account that creation was perfect until Adam and Eve sinned. If evolution is true, then Jesus's sacrifice on the cross is meaningless. However, if we believe in the biblical account of Genesis is it is written, including the Fall of Man, then Jesus's sacrifice is truly the only saving grace that can save us from Gehenna.

Matthew 5:33-37 This is a simple, yet important passage. We must let our yes mean yes and our no mean no. When we promise something to somebody, we must follow through. Otherwise, we must tell them we can't do something for them. This seems simple, but how often have we stated that we are going to do something with somebody and yet have failed to do it. When we do this, we are sinning. Having good intentions is not enough. We must act! Both the intentions and the result matter. If we all, as a human race, let our yes mean yes and our no mean no more often, this world will be a better place.

Matthew 5:21-26- "You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, 'You shall kill; and whoever skills will be liable to judgment.' But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment, and whoever says to his brother, 'Raqa,' will be answerable to the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, 'You fool,' will be liable to fiery Gehenna. Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court with him. Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge, and the judge will hand you over to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. Amen, I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny." This passage cuts to the heart. I am guilty of holding onto anger against others too often. Forgive those who anger you as soon as possible. It is not good to hold onto anger, but it is very good to forgive and you will please your God in the process.

Do not worry, for we have already won the victory. The glory to come is so majestic that the sorrows and troubles we suffer now will be overcome at least 100-fold.
