Let’s take a walk! 👟
Pedestrian safety isn’t just about looking both ways—it’s about knowing the rules of the road wherever you are.
Traffic laws differ in the U.S. compared to other countries. Here’s a few examples:
🇺🇸 In many U.S. cities, drivers must stop for pedestrians in marked crosswalks—but crossing outside a crosswalk can be illegal, depending on the state.
🇬🇧 In the UK, drivers stay on the left side of the road, and pedestrians are taught to “Stop, Look, Listen, Think” before crossing. Very similar idea, different rules.
🇯🇵 In Japan, drivers are often extremely cautious near crosswalks, and pedestrian signals are strictly followed. People rarely cross on red, even when the road is empty.
But no matter where you are:
✅ Use crosswalks when you can
✅ Look both ways
✅ Put the phone down and be attentive
