Great Upcycle Day this year.
The Applied Arts Center diverted 1500lbs of batteries.
Wyoming and our partners diverted over 20 tons.
And furthermore our Environmental Education plan has reduced Wyoming’s waste on junk day from 100 tons of waste 3 years ago to 41 tons this year.

Deconstruction in Reverse class intro.
Deconstruction at home challenge and contest.
Time how fast you can deconstruct every component from a vacuum.
Race to see how fast old smoke detectors come apart.
Turn it into something else.
Share with us a video presentation of your project, prototype, art piece using the deconstructed materials.
What it is? What’s its name? What it does? Who does it help? Why do we need it?
Duck tape, hot glue, zip ties.
Repurpose the materials into something else.
I will make 3 Deconstruction in Reverse trophies to be awarded to the three submissions that most embody the spirit of up cycling the gifts of our Earth.

Submissions will be for the month of July only.

Hey neighbors,
holiday donation drive.
The Applied Arts Center of Cincinnati
811 Burns; 45215
We are currently accepting broken electronics, misfit toys, unwanted gear, outdated devices, handhelds, tools, parts pieces and miscellaneous to be used during Deconstruction Class I teach.
We then ensure all components are diverted from landfill.
We have built a plastic shredder to shred the electronics plastic we have accumulated and will soon be able to accept other plastics. I.e. Clamshells Tupperware.

Tv's and large printers do not work for my class. I have to pay an apprentice to handle these. When dropping off larger items please consider a donation 5, 10 bucks would be great. Hell. Spare couch change would be amazing!

And on that note:
Please consider the Applied Arts Center of Cincinnati for your holiday charitable giving.
We are a 501c3 and are able to provide in-kind letters for your records.

Love Louder,
Patrick Walker

Please share, and if you are interested in getting involved please reach out.

Engineering department dropped her back off today and we built this totally awesome hopper. Still spins way too fast and I seem to have seized the motor already as well. But we started our first bits of shredding

Hey neighbors!
My deconstruction class starts again October 12th.
That means fall electronics recycling and donations drive starts now!
Drop your broken or unwanted electronics, small appliances, tools, toys, computers, phones, printers, monitors, devices, controllers remotes to 811 Burns ave; 45215.
Please also consider dropping us a donation. It can easily take up to an hour per device; to properly deconstruct, sort, and process these items. At this point, I've had to hire some of my students to help.(money going out)
We deconstruct the items and make sure none of it goes to landfill. Including developing a plastic shredder for the remaining plastic and theoretically the other plastics rumpke doesn't take. Please include name and address if you would like a receipt with your tax deductible donation. And please reach out if you would like to get involved or have any questions.

Love Louder,
Patrick Walker
