A UC engineering degree can take you out of this world! John McCullough, aerospace engineering '89, has worked at NASA for more than 30 years, fulfilling his childhood dream. He's worked on the the space shuttle, Hubble Space Telescope, International Space Station and human exploration programs, originally Constellation and now Moon-to-Mars' Artemis Campaign.

Computer Science student Eric Langhorne used his lived experience with color blindness to develop a smartphone application that tells users if their outfit is a match or not. This project was done through the Experiential Explorations Program, a co-op alternative that allows students to gain experiences and build skills in line with their future career.

Our CEAS students have had a winning year! This spring, the Aerocats advanced team earned first place in the international SAE Aero Design competition.
The competition features three classes — regular, micro, and advanced — for the last six years, UC has only competed in micro and regular. The prestigious Goldwater Scholarship is given to a select group of undergraduate students who show outstanding promise in science, engineering, or mathematics.
This year, one CEAS student received one of these coveted scholarships. Alex Knapp, electrical engineering student, is conducting research at the Cincinnati Children's Artificial Intelligence Research Center, where he is working on improving pediatric medical imaging.

For the first time in university history, the UC Fluid Power Club has earned first place in the annual National Fluid Power Association's Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge.
A group of fifth-year mechanical engineering technology students at the College of Engineering and Applied Science advised by Professor Muthar al-Ubaidi spent the entire academic year designing and developing a bicycle-like vehicle fully powered by pneumatics and hydraulics.

College of Engineering and Applied Science alumni have made historical contributions to Cincinnati and beyond. Donald Wehmeyer, CEAS class of '61, served as the construction manager for the iconic Riverfront Stadium. The stadium was the backdrop of memories for his family and countless others.
After his passing, his family wanted to honor his legacy in a meaningful way. Reflecting on his time a the University of Cincinnati and how it was the foundation for his career, his family recently established the Donald E. Wehmeyer Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund to support current students and build a lasting endowment.

Nathan Nguyen fell in love with computer science because of its ability to let him create something from nothing. After learning of the University of Cincinnati's cooperative education (co-op) program, is sealed the deal on his college choice.
Now, five years later, he graduated from UC's College of Engineering and Applied Science with a bachelor's degree on the heels of five impressive co-op jobs and receiving the 2026 Herman Schneider Co-op Medal. Read about Nguyen's time on co-op at 84.51 and Capital One.
