We are excited to announce that School Amici will start our spring semester MARCH 2, 2022. All classes will be held via Zoom on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in 1.5 hour intervals. We will offer the following classes this semester:

* Beginner (Wednesday 6:00pm-7:30pm)

The spring semester will cost $280 which will be broken down into 9 classes over 9 weeks. You will need to purchase the book we use in our classes which is not included in the $280 fee.

My name is Arianna Alonzo, I am Michele Alonzo’s daughter. Last month I had posted on here about the passing of my father. I would like to extend a huge thank you for all the kind wishes, condolences, and support during this difficult time.

As many of you know Michele was very proud to be an Italian which showed through his love for School Amici. Many of you have been asking about future plans for School Amici…and I am excited to announce that I will be continuing School Amici in my dads honor. I think this is the ultimate way to live out his legacy.

I have many ideas and plans for the school that I am excited to get going. In the next few weeks I will be coordinating classes for the spring to hopefully start in either February or March. All classes will most likely be held on zoom for this upcoming spring semester. More information to come.

Please excuse the website as I am in the works of getting it up and running again. As for now, all updates will be posted on this page, our new Instagram page (please follow), and via email. My name is Arianna. I am Michele Alonzo’s daughter. Michele was the executive director of School Amici. As some of you may or may not know, he has been battling multiple myeloma for the past 4.5 years. And it is with my deepest regret to say he passed away on December 1, 2021. He truly fought so incredibly hard against this terrible disease. So hard that even his primary oncologist said he has never seen someone fight so hard in his entire career. He received numerous amounts of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and 2 stem cell transplants. Unfortunately he was not able to safely receive the recently FDA approved CART therapy we all had high hopes for.

I know my papa was loved by so many people all across the world. He truly was an inspiration to many people including myself and my brother Fabio. Not only was he an inspiration but he was the smartest, most selfless, humble person I have ever met. Everything he did was for Fabio and I. We were truly blessed with the best father.

In the last 2 months of his life he was able to attend and give me away at my wedding which is such a blessing in itself. I will cherish those memories forever. He will be so dearly missed and remembered by many.

A celebration of life in honor of the passing of Michele will be held on December 17, 2021 from 5 PM - 7 PM at the Western Hills Country Club located at 5780 Cleves Warsaw Pike Cincinnati, OH 45233

There is no formality of this event. Please feel free to come and go as you please or stay the entire time. There will be light snacks and refreshments provided. There will be a time where we will open a mic if anyone would like to share a few words, memories, or any stories. I will also be putting together a slide show of photos and videos, so if any of you have any that you want included please be sure to attach them to this post or send them to my direct email at [email protected]

Ciao a tutti amici e familiari,

Sono Arianna, la figlia di Michele.
Come alcuni di voi sanno, ma forse non tutti (dico cosi' perche' mio papa' e' sempre stato una persona molto riservata che non voleva disturbare nessuno), mio papa' negli ultimi 4 anni e mezzo ha combattuto una battaglia contro il mieloma multiplo. E' con grande dolore che vi annuncio che papa' e' venuto a mancare il primo dicembre del 2021. Ha veramente combattuto con grandissima forza e tenacia contro questa terribile malattia. Con cosi' tanta forza che anche il suo oncologo ha detto che non ha mai visto nessuno combattere cosi' in tutta la sua carriera. Papa' ha ricevuto numerosi cicli di chemioterapia, radioterapia e due trapianti di cellule staminali. Sfortunatamente non e' riuscito a ricevere la nuova terapia CART che e' stata recentemente approvata dalla FDA e sulla quale avevamo riposto grandi speranze.

Lo so che mio papa' era amato da tantissime persone in tutto il mondo. Era una grande fonte di ispirazione per molte persone, inclusi mio fratello Fabio ed io. Non solo era una fonte di ispirazione, ma era anche la persona piu' intelligente, altruista e umile che io abbia mai incontrato.Tutto quello che ha fatto l'ha fatto per me e Fabio.Siamo stati veramente fortunati ad avere un padre eccezionale come lui.

Duranti gli ultimi due mesi della sua vita e' riuscito ad unirsi a noi nella celebrazione del mio matrimonio e ad accompagnarmi all' altare, che gia' di per se' e' stata una gioa immensa. Manchera' profondamente a molte persone che lo ricorderanno per sempre.

Ci farebbe piacere se volete condividere foto e ricordi che avete di mio papa'.

La cerimonia per celebrare la vita di Michele si terra’ il 17 dicembre 2021 dalle 17 alle 19 al Western Hills Country Club in 5780 Cleves Warsaw Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45233.
