Guiding Light Mentoring is committed towards helping youth and their families with the cost of schooling. When school supplies get expensive, Guiding Light Mentoring and our community steps in.

46% of parents are facing debt just to prepare for the school year in buying school supplies. Here at Guiding Light Mentoring, we're curating a space where families can breathe, our youth can shine, and where leadership can grow.

For our Back-to-School event, we had volunteers from Cincinnati Public Library give out books and volunteers giving out haircuts, pizza, and snowcones to our youth, in addition to a DJ that had brought our mentors, families, and youth together. This is how we build brighter futures together.

People always ask us: Where does my money go when I donate to Guiding Light?

The answer?

It goes right here 🎳. You are funding endless amounts of joy and creating daytime bowling memories where our youth can bowl with their mentors and friends, share pizza and laughter, and to celebrate the small wins, regardless of if they win or not!

Moments like these help our W.H.E.E.L. Academy Program participants build new memoirs, strengthen rapport, and deepen the mentor-mentee bond in a fun, supportive environment.

Thank you for investing in experiences like these that strengthen confidence, community, and belonging for our youth!

Behind every success story is a community that believed it was possible. 💛

This National Nonprofit Day, we celebrate the mentors, volunteers, donors, partners, and families who help make our mission possible. Together, we're creating opportunities, building confidence, and empowering young people to reach their full potential.

Thank you for being a guiding light in the lives of our youth. ✨
