There's no place like HOME! 🏠💙

What do diaper boxes, graham cracker boxes, glove boxes, and a little imagination have in common? Apparently, they're everything you need to build a home! 📦

This week, our Toddler 1 students at The Goddard School of Anderson Township explored our Wonder of Learning® question, "What Is a Home?"

Using everyday boxes collected from around our school, our little builders worked together to stack, arrange, and create a home of their own!

Along the way, they explored early engineering concepts, spatial awareness, problem solving, cooperation, and creative thinking, all while making meaningful connections to this week's learning theme.

Sometimes the best learning materials are the ones we already have around us. And sometimes, thinking outside the box means building something WITH the box! 😂💙

Hayrides, pumpkins, and a whole lot of fall fun! 🎃🍂

Yesterday, our APK and Kindergarten students at The Goddard School of Anderson Township enjoyed a fabulous fall field trip to Shaw Farms in Milford, Ohio!

Our little explorers enjoyed a hayride, played on the farm’s storybook themed playgrounds, visited with farm animals, shared a picnic lunch, and even picked out their very own pumpkins to take home! 🚜🐐

Beyond the fun, field trips like these give children opportunities to connect classroom learning with real world experiences, explore nature, build friendships, and create lasting memories together.

A beautiful fall day, plenty of smiles, and a pumpkin for everyone. We would call that a pretty successful adventure! 🧡

Little learners, big world! 🌎💙

¡Hola, familia! 👋

Our Infant 2 students at The Goddard School of Anderson Township are getting an early introduction to Spanish through our Zid Zid Kids enrichment program!

During the La Familia (The Family) unit, even our youngest learners have opportunities to explore new vocabulary through colorful picture cards, songs, repetition, and playful interactions.

Long before children can say the words themselves, they are developing receptive language skills, connecting sounds with familiar images, and building the foundations for communication in more than one language.

Because learning about the world around us can start long before we learn to talk about it! 😊

Who knew a wet spiderweb could spark so much curiosity?

Our PreK students at The Goddard School of Anderson Township discovered that learning opportunities are everywhere, even in the tiniest details of the world around us. As they stopped to admire the raindrops glistening on a spiderweb, they had the chance to observe, ask questions, notice patterns, and explore the beauty of nature up close.

These seemingly simple moments help children develop observation skills, encourage scientific thinking, and remind them that there is always something new to discover when we take the time to look.

Because at Goddard, learning doesn't just happen in the classroom. Sometimes, it happens one raindrop at a time. 💙

Peek-a-boo! We see you learning! 😄💛

In Infant 1 at The Goddard School of Anderson Township, our youngest learners explored soft tunnels with a little help from their teachers and plenty of smiles!

Teachers peeked through the openings, introducing spatial concepts like “in,” “out,” and “through” during playful interactions. Each coo and babble became an invitation for a back-and-forth conversation, helping babies practice early communication.

Learning begins long before the first words, and we love being part of the conversation! 🥰

There is always a little extra energy in the air when Soccer Shots visits The Goddard School of Anderson Township!

Our young learners get moving while practicing soccer skills, coordination, listening, teamwork, confidence, and good sportsmanship. Soccer Shots also builds character development and age appropriate skill building into its curriculum, making all that running and kicking about much more than scoring goals. Soccer Shots

Tiny caregiver. Big heart. 💙

This Get Set 1 student at The Goddard School of Anderson Township took baby care very seriously! 🍼 Caring for a doll gives children opportunities to practice gentle touch and explore what it means to care for someone else.

Through pretend play, everyday moments become meaningful opportunities to build empathy. And this little one has the snuggles covered! 🥰

A little nature, a little art, and a whole lot of creativity. 🍂🎨

Our Preschool 3 students at The Goddard School of Anderson Township gathered leaves from the Outdoor Classroom and brought them inside to turn into art.

Activities like this help children observe seasonal changes, explore texture and color, strengthen fine motor skills, and discover how materials from nature can become part of the creative process.

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
