Heading home after an incredible week in Thailand. 🇹🇭💙

We came ready to learn, serve, and experience something new—and we are leaving with so much more. New perspectives, meaningful connections, unforgettable memories, and a deeper understanding of how culture, context, and lived experience shape the way we connect with and care for others.

So proud of our students for stepping outside their comfort zones, learning alongside our Thai colleagues and clients, embracing different ways of doing and knowing, and growing as future occupational therapists—and as people.

Our bags may be a little heavier, but more importantly, our hearts and perspectives are much fuller. ❤️

Thailand, thank you for welcoming us, teaching us, and giving us an experience we will carry into our lives and our practice. ขอบคุณค่ะ 🇹🇭✈️💙

🧗‍♂️Our XU OTD students on their T.I.D.E. Level I Fieldwork through , stepped outside the traditional therapy setting and into an adventure-filled day of adaptive rock climbing and ziplining with their clients at Progression Vertical. Experiences like these demonstrate the power of occupational therapy to remove barriers, promote participation, and help individuals engage in activities that bring challenge, joy, and connection.
And yes... there were plenty of smiles at the finish line. 😄💙

🐘💦 Splashing, snacking, and making memories!

Our XU OTD T.I.D.E. Level I Field Work students traded the classroom for an elephant sanctuary, where they explored the role of ADLs, social participation, and play through hands-on cultural immersion. From preparing food and bathing elephants to building connections through interaction and play, every moment was a reminder that meaningful occupation can be found anywhere.

Thailand has been one incredible classroom . 🌏💙

🐘🌿 Today, our XU OTD students on their Total Immersive Diversive Experience (T.I.D.E.) Level I Fieldwork through and spent the day connecting with Thailand’s gentle giants. 🌊🇹🇭 Learning, sharing, and growing through T.I.D.E.! Our Xavier OT students are putting their knowledge into practice at their Total Immersive Diverse Experience (T.I.D.E.) Level I fieldwork sites across Thailand . Planning interventions and working alongside local therapists, providers, and clients at Dubalathon Foundation and Aujaa Craft, students are gaining valuable clinical experience while learning how culture shapes healthcare, daily occupations, and therapeutic practice.

This Level I fieldwork is an opportunity to exchange ideas, share evidence-based clinical knowledge, learn new approaches to care, and build meaningful connections with therapists and communities around the world. Through collaboration and cultural immersion, our future OTs are expanding their perspectives and strengthening the skills needed to provide client-centered care wherever their careers may take them. 🌎🤝✨

👩‍🍳🇹🇭 From the classroom to the kitchen! Today, our Xavier OT students traded their scrubs for aprons and immersed themselves in Thai culture through a hands-on cooking class as part of their Total Immersive Diversity Experience (T.I.D.E.). From new flavors to new skills, this experience was one to savor! 🍜✨

While learning traditional Thai recipes and techniques, students also explored cooking as an important Instrumental Activity of Daily Living (IADL) that supports independence, creativity, cultural connection, and meaningful participation in everyday life. From preparing ingredients to sharing a meal together, this experience blended learning, culture, and a little extra flavor, creating memories and skills that will last far beyond the kitchen. ❤️🇹🇭
