Louder Than A Bomb - Cincinnati The Taft Research Center of the University of Cincinnati, Elementz and WordPlay are bringing the world's largest youth poetry slam to Cincinnati!

Louder Than A Bomb (LTAB) is a youth poetry festival designed by the Young Chicago Authors in 2001 to be a platform that not only gives youth a voice, but gives them a chance to share their stories. Since then, it has become the largest youth poetry festival in the world. This year, with the leadership of the Taft Research Center at the University of Cincinnati, in cooperation with WordPlay and Elementz, LTAB seeks to bring together 12 Cincinnati teams to participate in the competition and is expecting as many as 400 area students to be a part of the competition. LTAB takes place in three parts, preparation, semi-finals and finals. Preparation will consist of area writers and poetry slam veterans working with the student teams to help them tell their stories. Open mic nights and other performances will allow the students to test their material and hone their skills. In March, at the Cincinnati School for Creative & Performing Arts, an audience of up to 300 people will watch the teams test their skills head to head in the semi-finals. The teams that qualify from the semi-finals will meet on April 18, 2015 at the Underground Railroad Freedom Museum to find out which team is truly Louder Than A Bomb.
