What has changed at GSCM over the years? What has stayed the same?

Our faculty and staff explored those questions today as they looked through old GSCM yearbooks during today's teacher in-service.

After hearing from Deacon Nathan and Mr. Navaro, faculty members gathered in small groups that brought together those newer to GSCM and those who have been part of our community for many years. Together, they reflected on GSCM’s past and present and shared what they noticed along the way.

The photos and faces may change, but the conversation offered a chance to reflect on the heart of GSCM and the community we continue to build together.

We’d love to hear from you. What do you remember from your years at GSCM? What has changed, and what still feels the same?

Thank You to Our Sponsors!

Last Friday’s Mad About Plaid Golf Outing was made possible by the incredible generosity of our sponsors.

As golfers made their way around the course, these signs were a wonderful reminder of the businesses, families, and friends who support GSCM and our students.

We’re grateful to each of you for being part of the day and part of our community. Thank you! 💚

GSCM is excited to announce Mr. Tim Navaro as the next principal of The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori.

We conducted a comprehensive search that included outstanding candidates from both within and outside our community. We sought a leader who is a devout Catholic, respects the Montessori method, builds strong relationships, and leads with humility, vision, and trust in God's providence. After deep prayer and discernment, Tim emerged as the principal for this moment in our history.

Tim is an experienced educator, curriculum designer, teacher mentor, former chairman of our Board of Trustees, and a current GSCM parent. With five of his six children attending school this fall, he brings not only educational leadership, but also a deep personal investment in our mission and community.

Over the years, he has demonstrated not only his dedication to GSCM, but also his ability to lead with faith, charity, and joy. Together with our exceptional faculty and staff, he is committed to preserving and strengthening the authentic Catholic Montessori education that has defined GSCM for nearly 30 years.

Tim is a graduate of Ohio University the University of Cincinnati and Archbishop Moeller High School. He and his wife, Shawna, are the parents of six children and are parishioners at St. Cecilia Catholic Parish in Oakley. Outside of school, Tim enjoys woodworking, hiking, and is especially excited to help grow our Erdkinder program.

Reflecting on his new role, Tim shared:

"I feel honored to be a part of The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori, a school that has meant so much to me and my family. I am thrilled to work alongside such dedicated teachers and staff as I continue my career in Catholic education and deepen my understanding of and . It is truly a blessing to serve this community, and I look forward to supporting the good work already happening here as GSCM continues to thrive."

Please join us in welcoming Tim and praying for him, his family, and our entire school community as we advance our mission: Always Catholic. Authentically Montessori. Helping children grow in wisdom, age and grace.

Okay, folks. This is a big deal. Not every school gets to send their teachers to Italy to study in the footsteps of Maria Montessori.

God's blessings just keep coming to our school and this summer one of the BIGGEST yet is our award!

Mrs. McCarthy and Ms. Lackney (Middle School Lead Guides) will actually be on the ground in Italy-talking to Montessori teachers, visiting the places Dr. Montessori developed her philosophy, and absorbing the inspiration of Italy in a myriad of ways.

They leave TUESDAY ... so make sure you bookmark their online journal: https://sites.google.com/gscmontessori.org/italyfellowship/home?authuser=0

We will be posting updates throughout their travels.
