We are proud to celebrate two outstanding members of The Christ College community who have been recognized by the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) for their exceptional contributions to student success and academic excellence.

✨ Jillian Ellis, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, received the Faculty Excellence Award for her engaging teaching, unwavering support of students, and commitment to academic excellence.
✨ Bertha Garcia-Rojas, Science Lab Manager, received the Staff Excellence Award for her behind-the-scenes dedication, positivity, and vital role in supporting student learning.

These prestigious awards recognize excellence among faculty and staff across SOCHE member institutions throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. We are grateful for the impact Jillian and Bertha make every day on our students and college community.

What a sweet afternoon on campus! 🍧🎲

Student Congress brought the fun today with Kona Ice on the Main Campus Front Lawn, giving students a chance to cool off with refreshing treats and enjoy some friendly competition with yard games.

Thank you to everyone who came out, grabbed a treat, played a game, and spent time connecting with friends. We loved seeing so many students enjoying the beautiful weather and making great memories together!

Mary Elkins, Clinical Coordinator for our Radiography Technology program, is our June Spotlight of the Month winner!

Since joining TCC in Spring 2025, Mary has made an immediate impact, bringing extensive radiology expertise, building strong relationships with clinical site preceptors, and creating protocols that support student success. She also led intensive ARRT exam prep sessions, helping achieve a 100% pass rate for 7 of 11 eligible students as of May 15. In addition, Mary played a key role in submitting the program’s JCERT accreditation self-study.

🌟 Student of the Week: Antwaunette Hudson 🌟

Please join us in congratulating Antwaunette Hudson, a standout student in our Nights & Weekends BSN pathway, for being named Student of the Week!

Antwaunette chose The Christ College because of its “small class sizes, the CCNE regionally accredited status as well as the schedule flexibility.” As a mother balancing school, work, and family life, she says the flexibility of the program has made all the difference.

“I definitely enjoy the evening/weekend schedule the most because time with my baby is a must… to be able to have school, quality time with my baby, have a job and enjoy the day, is a life balance I needed.”

Antwaunette’s passion for nursing is deeply personal. Inspired by family members in healthcare and her experience with her late great-grandmother who was affected by dementia, she is driven to make a meaningful impact in patients’ lives. After graduation, her goal is “to be a compassionately accurate Labor and Delivery nurse.”

Her nomination described her as “the definition of an intellectually curious nursing student” and a true “note taker extraordinaire.” Faculty praised her for consistently arriving prepared, contributing thoughtfully to discussions, and helping support her classmates along the way. She embraces the complexity of nursing, thinks beyond the obvious answer, and brings insight, collaboration, and compassion into every learning environment.

Antwaunette’s dedication, resilience, and positive impact on those around her make her incredibly deserving of this recognition. We are so proud to celebrate her accomplishments and cannot wait to see the amazing nurse she will become!

Congratulations to Bernisha Smith from our Nights & Weekends BSN Program for being named Student of the Week!

Nominated by Program Chair Mary Page Dalrymple, Bernisha is recognized for consistently demonstrating the professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and compassion that define exceptional nursing care.

As a seasoned LPN, Bernisha brings valuable real-world experience into the classroom, helping bridge the gap between theory and practice while enriching discussions for both peers and faculty. Her dedication to lifelong learning, patient advocacy, and personal growth shines through in everything she does.

What stands out most is Bernisha’s commitment to supporting those around her. She leads with collaboration, honesty, and encouragement — creating a positive and professional learning environment for everyone in our nursing community.

Bernisha shared, “The BSN Nights and Weekends program has been the perfect fit for me as a working LPN, allowing me to continue advancing my education while balancing my professional responsibilities, caring for my mother at home, and spending time with my grandchildren.”

As a follow-up to last night’s Top Work Place celebration, where TCC was recognized for being in the top 5% for Work-Life Balance and Top 25% for Company Direction, we would love to share some of our happy faces who brought home the spirit award.

A huge thanks to our employees who participated in the Energage survey, a survey sent to thousands of companies across Greater Cincinnati. The Christ College earned 19th for Best Places to Work in the small business category based on pay, benefits, direction, leadership, meaningfulness, and appreciation… and did we mention we won the SPIRIT AWARD?

Now that’s something to cheer about!
