While in Portugal, Dr. Larkin visited the Universidade De Coimbra. Founded in 1290, it is the oldest University in Portugal and one of the oldest in the world. It is also the site of the College of Jesus. The College of Jesus, created here in 1542, is the oldest Jesuit College in the world. It became the teaching space of sciences at the University of Coimbra after the educational reforms introduced by the Marquis of Pombal in 1772, and the Jesuits were expelled. Highlights included the “academic prison”, the library (no pictures allowed) which inspired the library in the remake of Beauty and the Beast, the chapel, the tower, and the cabinet of curiosities. Fun fact, the capes worn by the students in Portugal inspired the capes at Hogwarts.

Licensed social worker Debbie Serls applied for a grant from the Department of Justice to be able to give Cincinnati-area families tracking devices for loved ones with Alzheimer's disease, dementia or autism. In case a loved one gets lost, the devices' GPS is activated by a city employee after a 911 call is made, and Serls supports the family while investigators work to find the missing person. https://www.wlwt.com/article/tracking-devices-available-for-cincinnati-families-dealing-with-alzheimers-dementia-and-autism/41416361 #
