Back in July I brought this orchid to work. Brad and I had neglected it on our back porch for at least 6 months and it was on the way to the trash. In September it finally showed signs of life, in January a shoot appeared, and today it bloomed! Its journey of healing has mirrored my path of grief. It isn’t lost on me that it bloomed two days after my dad’s birthday. Life is dark. I needed this. I needed to see that life can continue.
