🪢🔥 READY… SET… PULL, KNIGHTS! 🔥🪢

Last week, we brought our new House Fitness Challenge to life with an EPIC Tug-of-War Challenge! 💪🏽 Instead of our normal hall assembly, our Houses came together for some friendly competition, teamwork, and LOTS of House spirit!

Our K–2, 3–5, and 6–8 Houses went head-to-head, working together, cheering each other on, and giving that rope everything they had! 😂👏🏽

And the winners are:
❤️ BRAVEHEARTS pulled their way to victory in K–2 AND 3–5!
💡 LIGHTBEARERS brought the power and took the win in 6–8!

What a FUN way to get our Knights moving while building teamwork, perseverance, and House pride! 💪🏽🛡️

🌟📚 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MS. GREEN! 📚🌟

This week we’re shining our Staff Spotlight on our fantastic 4th Grade Math teacher, Ms. Green! 💙💛

Ms. Green has been part of the Alliance family for the past two years, and the impact she has made on our Knights has been HUGE! She is a Wright State University graduate, a Cincinnati native, and outside of school she enjoys cooking, hiking, and watching basketball. 🏀🥾🍳 She is also a proud mom of two of the cutest little girls you’ve ever seen! 💕👧🏽👧🏽

Inside the classroom, MATH is her thing! ➗✖️➕ Ms. Green loves teaching math and helping our students build confidence, tackle challenges, and realize that math can actually be FUN!

💡 Did you know? Fourth grade is a BIG year for math! Students strengthen skills in multiplication, division, fractions, geometry, measurement, and multi-step problem solving—building an important foundation for the more advanced math they’ll encounter in middle school.

We’re so thankful for the energy, dedication, and heart that our 4th grade team brings to our Knights very day!

🚨📚 TESTING ALERT, KNIGHT FAMILIES! 📚🚨

It’s time for our Knights to SHOW WHAT THEY KNOW! 💪🏽🧠 This week, students will take their Math and ELA Interim Assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Families, you can help set your student up for success! 🌟 The night before testing, remember:

😴 REST UP – Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep
🥞 FUEL UP – Eat a good breakfast before school
📖 BRUSH UP – Spend a little time reviewing and studying at home
⏰ SHOW UP – Be on time and ready to do your best!

These assessments help us see what our Knights have learned, celebrate their growth, and identify where they may need additional support. 📈

Let’s encourage our students to take their time, try their best, and BELIEVE in what they know! 💙💛🛡️

🎓🐾 OUR 8TH GRADE KNIGHTS ARE THINKING AHEAD! 🐾🎓

Our 8th Grade class recently took a trip to the University of Cincinnati to explore campus and get a firsthand look at what college life could be like! 🏫✨

As our Knights prepare to make the big transition into high school, we want them to start thinking beyond the next school year and about the bigger picture—their FUTURE! Whether their path eventually includes college, a career, a trade, or another opportunity, exposing students to different possibilities now helps them begin setting goals and understanding how the choices they make today can impact tomorrow. 🎯📚

Our 8th graders had a GREAT time exploring UC, asking questions, and experiencing the campus environment. The visit definitely left an impression and sparked excitement about what their futures could hold! 🎓🌟

We’re preparing our Knights to dream big, plan ahead, and recognize that their future starts NOW! 🛡️💙💛

And this is only the beginning… 👀 Be on the lookout for MORE college visits and future-focused experiences for our Knights!

🤖💻🏆 BIG NEWS FOR ALLIANCE! 🏆💻🤖

We are incredibly proud to share that Alliance Academy’s own Markeith Wynn, better known to our students as “Mr. Keith,” has been nominated as The Tech and Innovation Guide! 🎉👏🏽

As our Math Interventionist and Robotics Lead, Mr. Keith is helping our Knights discover just how exciting math, engineering, robotics, eSports, and coding can be! His work gives students opportunities to take concepts they learn in the classroom and put them into action through real-world problem solving. 🧠⚙️

In robotics, that can mean using exact measurements, geometry, spatial reasoning, and angles to program a robot to successfully navigate a maze. Suddenly, those 90° and 180° turns have a whole new meaning! 📐🤖

Beyond technology, Mr. Keith continues to incorporate our Moral Focus™ values, helping students build curiosity, perseverance, teamwork, and confidence along the way.

🛡️💙 OCTOBER MORAL FOCUS™ VIRTUE: RESPECT! 💛🛡️

As we continue our Moral Focus™ journey, we're excited to introduce our second virtue of the school year: RESPECT! 🌟

At Alliance Academy, we believe respect is the foundation of strong relationships and a positive school community. It's about recognizing the value of others and showing kindness, consideration, and understanding through our words and actions. 🤝💙

Throughout October, our Knights will focus on what it means to listen with empathy, appreciate differences, treat others with dignity, and show respect for themselves and those around them.

🏠 Families, let's practice together! Encourage your Knights to demonstrate respect at home, at school, and in their communities. Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness make the BIGGEST difference!

🦎🔬 SCIENCE IS ALL AROUND US! 🔬🦎

Have you noticed more of these little lizards around Cincinnati than you remember seeing as a kid? It’s not just you! Our 4th and 5th Grade Knights learned about invasive species this week and how the European Wall Lizard—better known locally as the Lazarus Lizard—became part of Cincinnati’s ecosystem.

Students learned how a non-native species can spread quickly when introduced into a new environment. 🌎 But here’s an extra fascinating fact: researchers have found that these Cincinnati lizards show resistance to Lyme disease and are studying WHY—research that could potentially teach us more about protecting human health! 🦎🧬🤯These little lizards may be harmless to humans, but they gave our students a BIG real-world science lesson happening right here in Cincinnati! 🧪

Who knew a little lizard could lead to such BIG science? 🌱🔎 In science, there’s always more to discover!

For just $1, students can ditch the uniform for the day and represent their favorite team! Rock your favorite jersey, sports T-shirt, team colors, or other appropriate sports-themed clothing—whether you’re cheering for the Bengals, Reds, FC Cincinnati, Bearcats, or another favorite team! 🧡❤️💙

👟 REMINDER: Regular school expectations still apply, no hats wore inside the building and closed-toe shoes are required—NO slides or Crocs.
