Meet Eddie, a fourth-year Health Sciences major on the pre-med track who turned his own diagnosis - eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) - into his "why" for research. After reaching out to Dr. Marc Rothenberg, whose work directly targets EoE, Eddie joined the CURED Lab as a student researcher with a predoctoral designation.
This past summer, he was the only undergraduate presenting at the International Eosinophilic Society conference in Montpellier, France, sharing his team's work on neuroimmune crosstalk in EoE, and he will continue building on that experience at the UC College of Medicine this upcoming fall!
