Weave Sunshine

Seemingly opposite things can exist in harmony in nature: snow and flowers, ice and streaming water.

John Denver has moved me to dancing and/or tears since I was a 3 year old jumping around my dad’s study to a record playing “Thank God I’m a Country Boy!" What a song!

He was a poet who, through both words and musical notes still reminds us of the sacred balance of honoring the blessings of this earth, the wisdom we can glean from nature and the every day, while inviting to dream of what could be.

He has always resonated deeply with me, especially his connection to the land and hope for the future. What about you?

Small Wonders I noticed today 🍃

Little bits of quiet joy and magic surround us always, when we slow down enough to notice.

A friend we often encounter on the trails…slightly perturbed by my pup discovering her…again. It’s turtle season-they’re on the move! You likely already know, but our friend wanted me to remind everybody that if you see one about the cross the road, cautiously pull over (or turn around and go back), pick her up by the shell, put her on the other side of the road in the direction she was heading, then be your merry way!

These are limestone steps my dog and I climb and descend on a regular basis. They are truly magical. However, some days my mind is wandering, trying to solve the problems of the world, and I don’t even realize I’ve encountered them. May we never take for granted the special things and people we encounter each day.

The Columbine in my garden, many of whom are volunteers, wanted to show off a bit so I’m sharing the photo shoot 😉. These were one of my favorite flowers as a child-so whimsical. I love how when you plant seeds for one variety, over the years, you often end up with a multitude of variations. They’re full of surprises!

Be still my heart….how I adore this little girl. She is air, water, fire, earth, (wood and metal)….all the elements in one soul. She has it all-watch out world! And guess what else today means? Yep-she’ll be off to vote after school because she knows the change she wants to see in the world. We’re so proud of you.❤️🎉🙏🌈

I run from tree to tree, watching the match as I peek from behind the trunks in an attempt to dodge the stray balls coming from every which way.

It’s been a while…lots of living going on & not much posting.

So much beauty taken in each day…time to share.

Happy eyes, warrior with a la-ti-da spirit (at other times,) fierce animal advocate, silly, artist, musician, dancing queen, athlete, always learning and growing as life brings things your way, wild woman, fearless one, and one who knows yourself SO well that your boundaries are healthy....how we LOVE you to pieces!
These 17 years seem to have passed so quickly, sweet girl. Watching you become YOU has been an unparalleled joy of joys.
We've sung about "Huckleberry Friends" together hundreds of times over the years.... you know the reference.
