From our last reunion it was suggested that we host more gatherings to stay in touch and we've been intentional over the years about keeping classmates informed of upcoming events and reunions.
Now we're excited to invite you to our next event --A Day Party hosted by us c83on December 6, 2025.

This is not only a great opportunity to reconnect and have fun, but to also support a great cause. We're raising funds to help provide scholarships for the Paul Lawrence Dunbar class of 2026.

In honor of Black History Month, we want you to meet and celebrate Dayton Children’s first-ever Chief Medical Health Equity Officer, Dr. Patterson! 👋 While still seeing patients as a pediatrician with PriMED Pediatrics, now affiliated with Dayton Children’s, Dr. Patterson is excited to take on this new role to impact our community. Learn more about him below! ⬇️

What does Dr. Patterson do as the Chief Medical Health Equity Officer?
🩺 Using his decades of clinical experience in the community, he will guide Dayton Children’s programs, research and treatment to be inclusive to the many needs of families in our reach. This includes continuing to make an impact with programs like the asthma alliance, infant and child wellness initiatives and the pediatric residency program.

Where did Dr. Patterson train?
🎓 Residency in pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH

What experiences will help Dr. Patterson in this role?
🏥 “The access and care I’ve provided to our urban neighborhoods has allowed me to learn invaluable lessons on how to provide what people need, where they need it provided and how to address those needs with respect, dignity, humility and compassion”, says Dr. Patterson. Also as a member of the board of trustees for the Omega CDC, Dayton Early College Academy, and several other community organizations, Dr. Patterson’s community partnership and advocacy will help lead his efforts here at the hospital.

Why does Dr. Patterson love working with kids?
💙 “There is a special joy working with children that is energizing and fulfilling. Although challenging, pediatric care allows me to be fully in the present with each child and each family while at the same time, I’m impacting the future for so many people.”

How does Dr. Patterson stay busy and balanced while doing this work for the community?
🔋 “Connecting to nature through walks and gardening, spending time family and friends helps to recharge my battery!”
