In 12 weeks, I help women over 40 have the body they want and truly love who they are.

I’ve been working with Jen for almost a year.
We started the week of Dec 4 - 2022.

I can’t say enough about her discipline and tenacity.

She didn’t go on a diet.

She didn’t do a 12 week program she found online or download an app.

She changed her lifestyle.

She created who she wanted to be and one step at a time that is who she became.

She didn’t listen to her own excuses.

She pushed through the mind trying to keep her in her old habits.

She created new habits that supported her creation.

She didn’t wait around for “motivation”.

She got up and she showed up.

She started putting herself and her health before her to-do list.

She knows her worth.

Along the way she also:

Fixed her posture

Fixed her muscle imbalances

Lost A LOT of fat

Gained A LOT of muscle

She is strong.

She trains like an athlete.

She doesn’t count calories.

She doesn’t spend hours on the treadmill - or any other cardio equipment.

She doesn’t restrict her diet.

She has a strategy suitable for a woman over 40.

She provides her body with proper nutrition…

…because that’s what she wants to do!

And WATCH OUT because we aren’t done yet😊

The best part about this is - ANYONE can do this and EVERYONE is worth it!

A year will change your life. All you have to do is start.

I love you Jennifer Schaible-Kellom.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey❤️

Sometimes I run…🏃🏻‍♀️

I never run to burn calories.

I never run to punish myself for what I ate yesterday.

Sometimes I run, when I feel like it😊

If I run, I listen to chill music with a reggae vibe 🎵

…or no music at all… 🔕

Sometimes I listen to the birds and insects🕊️🦗

I am grateful 🙏

Sometimes I run, and only when I feel like it.

I do it because I love my body.

My body takes care of me.

My body works hard for me.

I am grateful 🙏

I run so the Hokas in my closet don’t feel neglected😂

I run to be in nature 🌳

To watch the squirrels play 🐿️

Or the hawk eyeing his next meal 🦅

If I run, I run because I’m 45 and I can 🎉

If my body chooses a day like today with an air quality alert, 🥵

I stay present and focus. 🧘🏻‍♀️

It might be harder to breath but I can breath.

I am grateful 🙏

When I get to the end of my run I sprint uphill.

I look down and thank my legs for being strong 💪

And if you run when it’s 90 degrees out,

…that will be the easiest cold shower you’ve ever had😂

Much love,
Brooke

Do you ever wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

I woke up feeling negative about everything today - for no reason.

Maybe I didn’t sleep well?

Watch says I slept fine?

I didn’t want to do my workout.

I didn’t even want to go for a walk.

I looked in the mirror and thought - ur old!

Hated everything in my closet.

Felt bloated and fat.

I didn’t care if what I ate was nutritious or not (but egg whites and spinach was all I had😂).

Thought about my dog and felt angry he’s gone.

I was throwing a private self-pity party in my mind 🤭.

No matter what came to mind - my inner talk was just crap.

I thought about laying on the couch and doing nothing.

I decided to plant some flowers instead 🌸

I hopped in my jeep.

Threw on my “Sunshine” playlist 🌞

Got the flowers 🌸

Threw on my “Sunshine” playlist again 🌞

Planted the flowers 🌸

Then watched the busy little bees in my front yard for awhile 🐝

Listened to my “Tank” wind chime as the wind blew and saw his sweet face😊

And just like that my grumpy goggles were gone.

What changed?

My life - didn’t change.

My circumstances - didn’t change.

My environment - exactly the same.

MY PERCEPTION CHANGED.

How did it change?

I didn’t tell myself positive affirmations.

I could have said 1000 positive things to myself and would have still felt like crap.

I changed the way I FELT.

By feeling different - my perception changed.

So how did I change how I felt?

I know what works for me.

Here’s what I did…

…I got up and moved.

…I listened to specific music.

…I felt the sun and the wind on my face.

…I spent some time in nature.

I hope this resonates with someone today. I’d love to know what works for you when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed❤️

Much love,
Brooke

Self-Care Shows Love for Others, Too

Is self-care selfish?

Not at all!

But sometimes people tell me they hesitate to practice self-care because they should put others ahead of themselves. And I totally get that, but I also urge them to think a step further to see why practicing self-care is an act of love – for other people in your life, as well as for yourself.

Here’s a simple illustration of that point.

At the beginning of every flight, the attendants tell us that, should we need them, air bags will come down from above. They show us how to strap one on.

And they say that, if you’re traveling with a child or someone else who needs special attention, PUT YOUR OWN MASK ON FIRST before helping that other person.

Why is that?

Because if you’re not able to take care of yourself, you won’t be able to take care of anyone else.

It’s the same when you practice self-care in everyday life – by doing inner work and healing, exercising, eating right, getting plenty of rest, managing your stress, and treating yourself sometimes.

When you do all of that consistently, you feel better. You think better. You behave better. You simply ARE better – and that extends to everyone in your life.

Consider the opposite! How do you act toward others when you’re tired, cranky, and down on yourself?

Are you helpful? Compassionate? Supportive?

We’re at our best for everyone else when we’re first at our best for ourselves.

Much love,
Brooke

LEAN INTO IT....

I haven’t posted on social media in several weeks EEEEEEK!🤯

I felt lead to share so many thoughts and ideas and then it was like my mind went blank.

I felt like I had no words.

No creativity.

Maybe you are experiencing something similar?

Maybe something is troubling you or you feel discomfort. 😔

Emotions can make you seem like a crazy person, right? 😝

At the first sign of discomfort, we just want it to go away.

Is there something you need to let go of?

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO LEAN INTO THE DISCOMFORT...❤️

Feel all the crazy emotions and let them flow.

The tricky part is not to listen to the stories your mind is telling you while the emotions are flowing.

Is there something you need to accept or be honest with yourself about? 🤔

Do you need to set boundaries or honor your boundaries?

If you are a recovered people pleaser, did you have a relapse?
(I totally get this one!) 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lean into the discomfort until you become aware.

What’s the worst thing that can happen? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Allow it to be like a reflection starring back at you until its source is uncovered. 🪞

There is a little gift in every feeling, even pain. 🎁

It’s a lesson.

It’s how we grow. 🌳

What do you need to see? 🤓

WHAT’S INSIDE THAT NEEDS HEALING? 🤕

Look at the discomfort and think of other times you felt it.

When have you thought these same thoughts before and felt this same way?

Is this a pattern?

Are you trying to fill something up that feels empty?

Begin to ask yourself why.

Why don’t you feel whole?

What is missing?

Try to peel back several layers of why.

What about indifference?

Maybe you feel nothing.

Ask yourself why that may be?

Are you protecting yourself from something?

What are you really afraid of?

Where did the pattern come from?

Do you need to be reminded that you are perfectly and wonderfully made?❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

There is a lyric I love that says:
“I am you and you are me, we are one, we’re family.”
(Resistance – Satsang). 🎶

I think we can find clarity in looking at any person and discovering ourselves…
….by the way that person makes us feel.

The complexity is removed.

It becomes very simple.

We are all human.

We are all on a journey.

We are all learning.

If you took a walk with your inner child and asked her (or him) if there’s anything she needs to tell you or,
if there’s anything she needs to hear,
what do you think she’d say?

I encourage you to do this when you feel discomfort.
I think you will be amazed at what can be revealed to you.

Much love,
Brooke

PUT IN THE REPS! 💪💪💪💪

As I created a workout program tonight,
I thought about putting in the reps.

Then I started thinking…🤔

…about another kind of workout,

that is far more important⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

INNER TRAINING 🧘🏻‍♀️

It’s a lot like a gym workout in that you don’t see results overnight.

There is no quick fix or magic pill. 💊

You need discipline, consistency, and time in the game.❤️

Eventually things will begin to evolve and transform.

And much like a strength routine if you quit –

you lose your gains.

Inner Training has to be a lifestyle.

A part of who you are.

So how do you start an inner training program?

AWARENESS✅

By becoming aware of who you are.

So how do you do that?

OBSERVING✅

Let your life be your training ground.

Get to know who you are.

Observe your mind AND the one who is suffering it.

Observe the things you are thinking/feeling/doing…
…with no judgment.

Whatever is there is ok😊

What kind of programs are running in the background?

What are you thinking and feeling and feeling and thinking?

How are you suffering because of it?

How much of what you think is just a story and how much of it is real?

You can’t change it if you can’t see it.

Let me know if you can relate to this😊
Much love,
Brooke

IS THIS THE HARDEST PART FOR YOU TOO?

Starting something – ANYTHING – is often the hardest part.

But if you can just take action, one little first step, it gets easier.

This is not a self-help platitude. IT’S SCIENCE!

Are you familiar with the first law of motion? Isaac Newton said a body at rest tends to stay that way, and a body in motion will stay that way, too.

The point is, don’t feel bad about yourself because it’s sometimes hard to leave the house and go to the gym… or to start building a new healthy habit… or to start doing anything you REALLY want to do but can’t seem to get motivated about.

The solution is often to take one, small step. Just one. If you want to go work out, then start by putting on your gym clothes and your sneakers.

Tell yourself that’s all you must do: Just get dressed for the gym.

Then what? Well, now you’re dressed for the gym. Now tell yourself you just need to get in your car. Then you just need to drive to the gym, and so on.

It’s one foot in front of the other. One step at a time.

And if you need support getting started, I’m here for it…

Much love,
Brooke

DAILY HABITS LEAD TO BIG OUTCOMES

We’ve all heard the old saying, “A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step” right?

But why is it so hard when it’s something you know is good for you?

Maybe because we’re brainwashed by marketers to believe in quick, miracle fixes for everything – instant weight loss, spot reductions, and more.

Sorry, but ancient sayings persist for a good reason: THEY ARE TRUE!

So, the secret to making big, positive changes isn’t instant gratification.

It’s making small changes to create new daily habits.

This philosophy made a huge best-seller of the book “Atomic Habits,” which suggests we make molecular change at first, then add to it more and more, and repeat this until a new, positive behavior becomes ingrained in our life.

It’s the ages-old idea of delayed gratification: If I make this small sacrifice today, I will be really, really happy about it later.

• If I save 10 percent of my paycheck, I’ll have money when it’s time to retire.

• If I reduce my number of junk snacks by one each week, then I’ll have cut them all in no time.

• If I lift a small weight to start out, then keep lifting, get stronger, add more weight… and repeat the process - I'll be as strong and lean as I want to be in no time (the hardest part is just starting).

So, as 2023 begins, keep in mind this super-wise advice to start small, make progress one step at a time… be consistent… be patient… and you will BE SUCCESSFUL in whatever you pursue.

I'm curious - what is one tiny habit you can start right now?

Much love,
Brooke
