Here’s the way it went down according to channel 12 news.
So proud of the wonderful beekeepers having the backs of our fellow beeks. Save your bees got the publicity, but it truly was a team effort. Many thank to all the local beekeepers that showed up to help.

Got an emergency call of a fellow beekeeper who got hit by the tornado last night. Save Your Bees and other local beekeepers are on the way to Save their Bees. The save will be on channel 12 news tonight at 11. Asking for prayers of safety for all the beekeepers helping.

We are off to Amiela to save another bumblebee nest. Look for that video in a couple hours, but until then enjoy watching these bumblebees putting their nest back together after the move.

So no pix of the save. I guess I need to get a GoPro 😆 but here is the bumblebees new digs. One of them must have been a guard bee cause she just kept coming out looking for us; however a bee’s vision is on the UV spectrum which means they can’t see red, hence the red lights. I’ll check on them when there’s a break in the rain and will update how they are adjusting. I got a call for another bumblebee nest in Amiela we will be saving as soon as the rain stops long enough.

Ok! Maybe, this is the last swarm of the season!? Or not 🤔 who knows 😆 this call came from Kennedy heights. On the ground and wet. Although not happy with their situation they were not aggressive. They immediately started walking in the box, not fast mind you but they were moving. Around dusk we did start scooching them in a bit, because after this we had to head out to colerain to save a bumblebee nest. Pix up next.

Honey bees are glorious, but did you know there are approximately 3,000 moth species that are pollinators?
This is a hummingbird moth that came to visit my little garden today. They move so fast.

Swarm update. On this beautiful day we decided to go ahead and do an inspection on the newest swarm save to see if we can find the queen. It was a very easy inspection. Very docile bees, which would indicate a queen, but watch till the end to see what we found.

Unfortunately I had some technical difficulties 😬 I downloaded the latest update on my phone and well I’m still learning, so I missed the shake. I’m so mad at myself cause it was flawless. 🥷 Mike is a master, but here’s the rest of the girls walking into the box. We’ll be doing an inspection next week to make sure they’re all good.
Mike thinks they’ll be a marked queen in there 🤔 I think not 🙄 tell me what you think 💭
