I know it’s last minute, but if you’re going to be out and about on this beautiful Saturday I’ll be at the summer craft fair at Parkside church 6986 Salem rd from 10-4. FREE honey straws and stickers for the younglings and taste testing for the adults. See you there 🐝💛
What’s in the box??
Swarm season isn’t over yet. Got a call down in Kentucky this afternoon and I took this one on alone. Unfortunately when you go it alone the videos not as exciting, but got literally 100% of the girls off the branch with one shake. The homeowner even gave me a 5 ⭐️ review on google. When Mike got home we got in the box check out the next video to see what we found. Note to self : clean your camera lens before taking video 😆
This is an experiment 😮 instead of 5 inspection videos it’s all in one. There are a couple issues we will have to keep an eye on for a couple weeks, but the others are doing fantastic and will 🐝 going to their permanent homes probably next week.
With a week straight of either rain or cold all the swarms we saved the previous week were just hanging in limbo, so on this beautiful Memorial Day we got into some hives. This is the latest one that was so high up in the tree, and yes we have a queen 👸🐝
Another late evening swarm call from a FB post in Anderson Twp. The girl’s didn’t want to come down, but 🥷 Mike was persistent. Shook them 3x before they decided perhaps it was for the best. I didn’t get good video of it all cause it was 9pm and getting dark, but we walked away with 95% of the girls.
A interrupt your dinner swarm request came through FB messenger out of Alexander Ky. Another easy cooperative save. These girls must have been hungry. They immediately went after the pollen in the frames and didn’t give us a moments grief.
Thought we were in for the night , then this happened 🐝 got a call In Eastgate. We were thinking since it was so late to use the vacuum, but I had a feeling and we decided to drop them; expecting an angry reaction us both being suited up. Which you all know is unusual 🫨 surprise surprise they graciously just dropped in the box and are getting ready for bed as we speak.
Beekeeper John Beers packing up the girl to move to their new home. I know they enjoyed their stay at Country Fresh Farm Market & Wine Depot - Vine St, but all good things must come to an end.
