If your child is at all interested in history, you have to check out Ripley, Ohio!
I spent the day visiting the John Rankin House, stopping for lunch along the Ohio River, having a wonderful conversation with the only employee of the John Parker House and walking along Front St. I actually got to tour the John Rankin House with descendants of his daughter, Julia!
Here’s the website I used for information about Front St: https://ripleyohio.net/historic-walking-tour/
Feel free to email me with questions.
I’m excited to share everything I learned today in the classroom next school year (after a long, restful summer).

🌍 Happy Earth Day 🌎
Students were given STEM challenges that they had to complete using only things they found outside and string. What a beautiful day to do science outside!

Yesterday, we did a lesson on gratitude promoting happiness. Not only is it a great social emotional lesson, but it’s also super important in January and February when it can be very grey outside.
As a teacher, I try not to pick favorites, but the first prompt definitely takes the prize ❄️

I’ll share my pictures from Memphis and Atlanta with students tomorrow, but I thought some people here might enjoy them as well.
If you ever get the chance to visit Memphis, the National Civil Rights Museum is one of the best museums I’ve ever visited-so good I’ve been there twice.
