Ally Oakes Strings

I'm excited to announce that I will be adding a new location! Beginning in April, I will be offering private violin, viola, and cello lessons and a beginning string class on Tuesday evenings at the Delhi Event Center!

All ages are welcome! I have experience teaching students as young as age 5 all the way through retired adults!

The class is geared towards beginners who have never played any instrument before.

I teach private lessons to students of all ability levels!

Congratulations to my students, Shakthi, Katie, Roni, Pam, Owen, Trevor, Ella, Maya, Gabby, and Aubry for their performances last night and this morning at the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs Junior Music Festival.

I'm SO proud of these students and the hard work they have put in over the last few months to prepare. Each student earned the highest "Superior" rating!
I'm so proud of them and so lucky to have such dedicated, hard working students!

Special shoutout to Davis McKinney for accompanying so many students on piano and to Erin for accompanying her son, Owen on piano!

I have some students playing in a contest at the end of the month, so I’m throwing a recital for them to practice playing their recital pieces in front of an audience to get the nerves out. The recital will take place on February 22nd at 4pm. If you have time to come be their audience, it would be greatly appreciated and would help them a lot!

One of my students was asking what my candy jar's name was. I told her it didn't have one. Long story short, it is now named Lord Farquad and all of the candy is some variation of Lord Farquad Sr./Jr.

I have a very entertaining job lol

As some of you may know this Friday, June 21st is International Make music Day! Make Music Day encourages musicians of all abilities and ages to go out into their communities and celebrate by performing in public spaces and parks purely to spread the love of music!

I am going to be hosting an event at Sayler Park 6600 Gracely Drive starting at 4:30pm I will be playing a few short pieces, followed by my wonderful students at 6:00pm, after which we will be having a rock concert featuring the bands: The Electric Indigo
at 8:00pm and Happy Tuesday at 9:00pm

We will have a food truck to satisfy those who are craving something more than music, so please get your family out to your local park to celebrate with us on Friday June 21st!

It won’t just be us celebrating, while my event is beginning at 4:30 there will be multiple bands celebrating in the park throughout the day, like Stick & Bindle who start at 12:00pm! You can keep an eye on any updates to who’s performing through the QR code in the images below!

The homeschool orchestra working hard rehearsing the music for our recital at 2pm this Saturday!

I will be posting a livestream link on Saturday for anyone interested in watching to see what they and my other students have been working on.

Sign ups are now open for the second session of Homeschool Orchestra at the link in the comments!

Beginners are welcome, but may need some extra private lessons to get caught up. This is not specific to any particular group or age range. I will accept ages 8 and older, but exceptions may be made for younger students on a case by case basis!
