Proud teacher moment!!
During one of our career day visits last week, my crew helped our incredible St. Ignatius Spirit Shop volunteers design a shirt that is now available for purchase!
The unique design is able to be purchased now through June 14th.
There ARE toddler through adult sizes listed. Shirts are the soft cotton shirts we have in the spirit shop and are unisex sizing.
Once orders are complete, they will be brought to the school/parish office for pick up!
Check it through the link below! :)

NOTE: The paw print shown in the pictures will be on the one sleeve. It notes that the shirt was designed by Mrs. Hein's class 2022-2023.

Hard work deserves some well earned time for play!
With the last several school weeks being short, the crew has been powering through to do pretty much the usual level of work with one less day to get it done.
To shift gears a bit, this Thursday and Friday morning we relaxed and enjoyed creative morning work instead. Since iPads were only an option if they were used to look up a picture to draw, students choose to color, play with Play-Doh/brain flakes/Legos/dominos, tackle the giant sudoku puzzle, or read.
Afterwards, we dove back into our novel study on "Poppy". So many in-depth and thoughtful answers were given that quite a few high five awards were handed out again. Way to go kids! πβΊοΈπ

Incredibly proud to teach this crew of kids!! It's been a busy last week and half for us all, but they persevered and made it fun. We've been busy getting all the Christmas things done, practicing our times tables in math, giving very thoughtful answers for our novel study & using strong vocabulary in our writing (hence all the awards πβΊοΈ)...& of course, taking silly pictures along the way!
Merry Christmas from 214!!! ππ¦π

Always incredibly proud of my crew, but exceptionally so when they earn our class "high five" awards for kind behaviors and academic reasons!
This set of awards were all given for very wise and thoughtful answers given in class this week and last.
Way to go everyone! You should be proud of yourselves & all your hard work!! βΊοΈ

Last round of Halloween photos! π

What a Halloween to remember!
The theme this year was board games. Definitely one of my favorites as far as kids being interactive throughout the day, especially with third grade being the game characters from Clue. All day long the kids were trying to guess who was guilty and it was hilarious! Spoiler alert- it was Mrs. White. π€£
Had so much fun walking in the school parade and a wonderful time at the party seeing my crew have a blast!
A busy & tiring day for sure, but worthwhile to see so much enjoyment and happiness throughout the day. βΊοΈπβΊοΈ

Welcome to 3rd grade!
This new crew is so much fun, full of personality, and I can't wait for all the adventures to come this year!
This week was full of "get to know you" activities, including Sudoku, Lego builds of our summer vacations, creating with playdough, personalizing things around the classroom, artwork, and one of my favorites..."Would you rather?" exercises for kids on YouTube (they LOVE these!!!).
Ready to hit the ground running with curriculum next week. We got this!! π

What a wonderful Art Week we had! π¨
This week was full of our usual busy schedules, but sprinkled in were times with mystery readers, a super fun & meaningful photo scavenger hunt for "Why You Matter" (check out a sneak peak at the awesome project one of the crew is putting together βΊοΈ), & our last library visit where we can check out books.
Love this crew & seeing them shine!! π

214 put our Legos to good use today to review chapters we read last week from Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Afterwards, we had to put our creations under the document camera and explain our choices. Mrs. Hein was so proud of all our hard work & creativity!! βΊοΈ

Having some Easter fun in 214! Each group was given 50 Easter eggs split in half. They had 30 minutes to make the tallest tower using only the Easter eggs!

Today was a "creative morning work" kind of morning! π€
The 214 crew enjoyed taking their pick from building with Legos or Play-Doh, coloring, reading, or doing independent or direct drawings. Always a favorite of the class & a fun start to the morning before we took our religion & Australia tests today. π
Father Christian also stopped by this afternoon to read to us for awhile. We finished the book he had been reading to us during his visits so we'll have to pick something new next time! π
Last but not least, the late bus crews enjoyed watching marble races on YouTube. This is a treat that Mr. Hein found when sports were halted when we were all at home in 2020. Too funny not to share & the kids noticed how they incorporated stop motion effects like they learned in computer class recently! π
