Some connections at school are extra special. ❤️

One of third grader, United Lemmons’ favorite parts of the school day is when Mr. Peter is there to pick him up! 🚌

Mr. Peter is extra special because he’s United’s teacher, Mrs. Wiehe’s dad! United gets so excited every time he sees him, saying, “Mrs. Wiehe’s dad is coming to pick us up!”

It’s these sweet, everyday moments and relationships that make our school community feel like family. 💙 💚

Thank you, Mr. Peter, for safely getting our students where they need to go, and thank you, Mrs. Wiehe, for making 3rd grade such a special year for United and his classmates. 🚌🍎

We are thankful for our community partners who invest in our Warriors! Thank you! 💚💙

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress.

As we reflect on this important moment in our nation’s history, we remain committed to fostering a community where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.

Happy Juneteenth from the Winton Woods City Schools! ❤️🖤💚💙

Though some time has passed since her passing on May 6, the impact of Gladys Black’s service to Winton Woods City Schools continues to be felt today. We remember and honor her remarkable career, her dedication to students and staff, and the lasting legacy she leaves behind. 💚💙

An avid educator and passionate advocate for students, Gladys began her career with Greenhills/Forest Park City Schools and played an instrumental role in the district’s transition to Winton Woods City Schools. She started as an English teacher, where her unwavering belief in students and fellow educators inspired her to expand her impact beyond the classroom.

Gladys went on to serve as Principal of Cameron Park Elementary School, becoming the longest-tenured principal in the school’s history with 25 years of dedicated leadership. She later served as Associate Director of Pupil Services before retiring in March 2004 after more than 30 years of service to the district. Her commitment to educational excellence, student success, and staff development left a lasting impression on generations of Warriors.🙌🏽

We extend our deepest condolences to the Black family and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Gladys. Her legacy of leadership, compassion, and service will forever remain a part of Winton Woods City Schools.❤️

Tuesday marked a major milestone as community leaders, partners, and members of the Winton Woods City Schools Board of Education joined The Hillman Group for the groundbreaking of a new $100 million, 715,000-square-foot facility in Forest Park.

This transformative project breathes new life into the former Forest Fair Mall site in Forest Park and represents a significant investment in the future of our community. The new facility will serve as Hillman’s centralized distribution center of hardware-related products.

Perhaps most importantly, this development will retain 500 jobs in our region, strengthening the local economy and creating opportunities for the families we proudly serve.

Congratulations to The Hillman Group and all of the partners who helped make this exciting redevelopment project a reality. We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on Forest Park and the entire Winton Woods community for years to come! 🎉

📚💙💚Celebrating the power of inclusion, representation, and community! 💙💚📚

Forest Park resident, Winton Woods parent, and author, Jenetta Thomas recently shared her inspiring children’s book, “I Am Me,” with students across our South Campus. Written with children of all abilities in mind, the book was inspired by a simple yet powerful phrase often spoken by her daughter, Auri: “I am me.” 😀

At the end of the school year, Ms. Thomas partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Greenhills-Forest Park to visit several classrooms —including Auri’s own class —and gifted copies of the book, defrayed by the Kiwanis, for students to enjoy over the summer. 💚💙

We are grateful to Ms. Thomas, the Kiwanis Club, and our community partners for helping ensure every child sees the value in being exactly who they are. ❤️

You can get a copy of “I Am Me” on Amazon at https://a.co/d/0hLIwATI
