Kindergarten literacy in action! 📚✨

This week, our kindergarten students were hard at work building strong reading foundations as they practiced rhyming with CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) word cards. Through hands-on learning, partner collaboration, and plenty of laughter, students sorted, matched, and discovered word families like cat, hat, bat and pin, bin, win—strengthening the phonemic awareness skills that are essential for becoming confident readers.

At Cincinnati Urban Promise, we know that big learning often starts with small moments like these—sitting on the floor with friends, solving problems together, and discovering the joy of language one word at a time. 💙

Today in 1st grade, learning came to life through movement, teamwork, and creativity! Using jump ropes, our students worked with partners to build shapes, solve problems, communicate ideas, and encourage one another along the way.
Activities like this are about so much more than geometry—they’re about learning how to listen, collaborate, lead, and show kindness in the process. At Cincinnati Urban Promise, our mission is to grow mature leaders who will impact our world with compassion, confidence, and character.

Our Pre-K students have been hard at work in art class—exploring, experimenting, and creating something all their own. With paint, tape, and a whole lot of imagination, they’re learning that art isn’t about perfection… it’s about expression.

Every brushstroke is building fine motor skills, confidence, and the ability to try something new. And maybe most importantly, it’s giving our students space to create freely and take pride in what they make.
We love watching their ideas come to life—one masterpiece at a time. 💛
