Cincinnati Urban Promise is expanding our preschool program to serve even more children and families in our community—and we're looking for THREE passionate Preschool Lead Teachers to join our team!
If you believe every child deserves to be known, loved, and challenged to reach their full potential, we'd love to meet you.
At Cincinnati Urban Promise, you'll be more than a teacher. You'll be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to whole-child development, building strong relationships with families, and creating a joyful, engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

When the temperatures rise, there's no better way to cool off than splashing around at Washington Park!

Our Summer of Promise students had an amazing time running through the fountains, laughing with friends, and making memories that will last long after summer ends. Sometimes the best learning happens outside the classroom—building friendships, staying active, and simply enjoying the joy of being a kid.

📖✂️ Chop. Blend. Read. Repeat! ✂️📖
Learning to read is made up of hundreds of little victories—and today, we're celebrating one of them!
Our students are learning to "chop" CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words into individual sounds before blending them back together to read the whole word. It may look like a simple activity, but this skill is one of the building blocks of becoming a confident reader.
By practicing phonemic awareness and phonics in fun, hands-on ways, students learn that words aren't just something to memorize—they're something they can decode all on their own!
Watching that moment when a child realizes, "I can read this!" is one of the greatest joys in education. ❤️
Every sound. Every word. Every success brings our students one step closer to becoming lifelong readers.

🔧❄️ Breaking News: Our Executive Director is looking forward to a break from HVAC repairs! 😂
If you've been around CUP for any length of time, you know that whenever the heat or air conditioning acted up, there was a good chance you'd find our Executive Director with a toolbox in hand, trying to squeeze just a little more life out of another aging unit. We're pretty sure "repairman" isn't in his job description... but he wears the title well! 😅
The good news? Those days are (hopefully) soon behind us!
We're thrilled that every classroom is getting brand-new heating and air conditioning before school starts! 🎉
That means:
✅ Comfortable classrooms for students and staff
✅ Fewer emergency repair calls
✅ Less time spent troubleshooting old units
✅ More time focused on what matters most—our kids!

Here's hoping the only tools our Executive Director needs this school year are the ones for building great programs... not fixing air conditioners. 😉
We can't wait to welcome everyone back to cool classrooms and an exciting new school year!

🌞🎨 When the temperatures rise, the creativity comes out! 🏖️
Last week's extreme heat meant our Yellow Classroom stayed safely indoors—but that didn't stop the summer fun!
Instead of heading outside, our students designed their very own pool towels, filling them with bright colors, unique patterns, and plenty of imagination. It was the perfect way to dream about cooling off while practicing creativity, fine motor skills, and artistic expression.
At Cincinnati Urban Promise, we know that great learning doesn't depend on the weather. Whether we're exploring outside or creating inside, every day is an opportunity to engage young minds in meaningful, hands-on experiences.

One of the best parts of Summer of Promise is seeing our staff jump right into the fun alongside our students! This week, our co-principal joined in a friendly hula hoop challenge.

At Cincinnati Urban Promise, we believe the strongest relationships are built when adults learn, play, and grow alongside our students. Moments like these remind children that it's okay to try something new, make mistakes, laugh at yourself, and keep going.

🧦👕 Learning Life Skills, One Button at a Time! 👖👟
At Cincinnati Urban Promise, learning goes far beyond reading and math. This week, our students practiced one of the most important life skills they'll ever learn—dressing themselves!
From buttoning shirts and zipping jackets to putting on pants, matching clothing, and building confidence through independence, our students worked hard to master everyday tasks that will serve them for years to come. There were plenty of smiles, a few giggles, and lots of determination as they encouraged one another through each challenge.
Teaching life skills like dressing independently helps children develop:
✨ Fine motor skills
✨ Problem-solving abilities
✨ Patience and perseverance
✨ Self-confidence
✨ Independence and responsibility
Every button fastened, every zipper zipped, and every shirt put on correctly was a victory worth celebrating! We are so proud of our students for sticking with it and discovering that they are capable of doing hard things.
